Mr. Woodcock

Go by the European model. It's the most accurate. The new noa model is pure shit. Left over bad decision from the Obama administration. Figures. That model failed miserably in Texas while the European model was right on. Unfortunately the euro model shows South Florida in its crosshairs although it can't accurately predict yet where it will be on Saturday and Sunday. If you live near the beach shad it's probably a good idea to get out.

im praying for Miami, that hurricane looks scary as shit, everyone needs to evacuate the coast, I can't even imagine a Cat 4 hitting... I was there for hurricane Andrews and it was horrible..

Prayers people, lots of prayers ..that' what we need .

The NFL keeps dicking around with the Dolphins game, lets go !

OC Dolphin

Well, if their first game is cancelled, and hey are forced to burn their bye week at the beginning of the season; required to go 16 straight...Register me optimistic with an 8-8.

OC Dolphin

I'm talking myself down to a 7-9 record. This based on the storm cancelling their first game. Coupled with a good chance of Houston-style disruptions in the aftermath. Also, fielding an effective, albeit older QB vulnerable to injury (enter Moore...sooner or later).

I must say, though. If somehow their season starts uneventfull, and with a win. If the O-line can manage to keep Cutler upright and in the "season," well, they could easily go 10-7. The team, and coach Gase and combination of players are good enough for at least that.

Still stuck in "Realville," though. Hence 8-8.

OC Dolphin

10-6

Jimbo

Woodcock. Your team looks solid.

Got a hurricane retreat 8 hrs north on the SC & NC border. As of now, the central panhandle looks ok. Wait and see.

OC Dolphin

I'm hopeful that Irma will veer off to the right, missing the mainland while hugging the coast.

OC Dolphin

Serious stuff to be sure, this Irma. Unfortunately, the storm has already had an impact on Florida, as both the Buccaneers and the Dolphins now lost their bye-week.

Set for week 11, the Dolphins especially needed that week off, so as to rest before playing a most difficult end of the season.

Friedrich Nietzsche believed that "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." Well, if true expect the Dolphins to outperform most expectations...NEXT year.

Tom

Brad Kaaya leaves the U early to get drafted in the 6th round and then cut. Mind numbing stupidity. Another year might have helped him develop into a real NFL prospect.

Irma is going to miss South Florida and hit my house in SC.

8-8

FZB if you're in Jville you're more likely to get the hit than Miami. Good luck.

the shadow knows

CLOSE CALL IN HONDURAS!!!!

lucky to get a point, the USA will still have to qualify via a playoff methinks. if they get in by finishing 3rd, fine. but they are a real mess when compared to the good teams going.

the shadow knows

MR. Woodcock,

miles away from the beach; appreciate your sentiments. got the windows shuttered up and praying the roof stays in place.

Fzb3346

Tom...I am in J-Ville but not near the coast, more to the St John's river but this is a fast moving storm , we are ready , hoping for the best..

OC...Im also re thinking my 10-6 prediction, a couple of big worries is no bye week and a trip to London and playing the next sunday, that's insane, put me down for 9-7 but hoping Im wrong and they can get to 10.

Shadow and everyone in south florida, prayers and safe wishes for everyone

Fzb3346

Of course the houses here are like tin cans , nothing like south florida building codes.

Big Baby

Hope for the best prepare for the worst if you are staying put guys. I have family in Boca and Cape Canaveral to worry about as well.

Big Baby

shadow US should make it in without the playoff however those two early losses are looming now. I like Bobby Wood he really saved the day a loss and they are on the outside looking in. Be well and I hope you are spared the worst of the storm.

the shadow knows

GETTING CLOSER!!!!!

supposed to be really bad saturday and sunday; we will be inside the house the entire weekend. kinda bizarre with the shutters up- w/o lights pitch black. we will almost certainly lose power, so tomorrow will be my last opportunity to post. hope all are safe

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

thanks

OC Dolphin

the shadow knows,

Stay safe!

Jimbo

Hope everyone is safe.

OC Dolphin

"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Could you be my, would you be my...neighbor (Pats hate club)"?

Jimbo

I saw most of the Pats-Chiefs game. Many of the NFL talking heads considered the Pats as leading Super Bowl contenders & forecasted an undefeated season. well, well, well. Not only did they lose, they look very beatable. Pats have Brady, Gronk, Cooks, and some high talent players but they are weaknesses. O line, D line & linebacker (without Hightower) look suspect. Nice to see an Andy Reid lead Chiefs take it to NE in NE.

After the game I watched the movie Dunkirk. meh. Jimbo doesn't pay for movies with the MBox (internet streaming) so no big loss. Just 2 hrs of my life I'll never get back. I'd put it there with having to watch Twilight with the wife.

Jimbo

Hurricane forecast for my area is minimal. Thank God for that. We shopped for items just in case. My former J O B included taking multiple FEMA courses and running practical exercises at work. I'm going to be prepared as best as possible.

Fzb3346

Well, well well...the Beli-Chaters got their asses whupped at home, it doesn't happen very often so we might as well enjoy it.

Jimbo...Irma has taken a turn a bit more to the west, be careful buddy...it looks like Miami will scape the worst of the winds, The strorm its heading for the west coast of Fl after making land fall on the middle keys..still very dangerous conditions out there.

the shadow knows

LOTS OF WIND AND RAIN...

however the models show irma going up the left coast. prayers still needed for all.

(the real) david in los angeles

boy did we dodge a catastrophic bullet.

my father and his girlfriend managed to get out of miami on one of the last flights to los angeles as they have a place in santa monica, while mom stayed put in sunrise lakes.

i feel bad for cuba, the keys and the west coast of florida, but i am grateful miami was spared the worst of it.

season opener for miami will be here, though work will force me to miss it unfortunately.

i am hoping for 9-6.

hope those affected are safe

OC Dolphin

Just finished watching the Broncos/Chargers game. Decent enough game that came down to a game-tying field goal attempt with three seconds left. The Chargers made the kick, but wait!!!! The Bronco's coach called a time out just before the hike. They need to abolish that strategy; make it illegal. Sure enough, the kicker missed the second attempt when one of the OL guys tipped it.

Now the Chargers are going to feel one got away and focus extra hard on their next game against us. Dolphins coaching better have a plan on how to deal with Bosa. That guy was everywhere.

Mr. Woodcock

Floridians couldn't have been any luckier with the path Irma took through the state. It came ashore on the least populated corner of the state and headed slightly east and then passed east of the gulf coast over swamp land and farmland and continued North just east of the populated West coast all the way to Georgia. Just an amazingly fortunate track. I don't think you could have drawn a line from the bottom of the peninsula to the Georgia border that is a less populated path than the one that Irma took. Coincidence? I don't think so. Thank God for all the prayers and good wishes from millions of people around the world, all we had was a hope and a prayer and at the end it was all we needed. Thank you for all your prayers.

Big Baby

I have family on both coasts and they were luckily spared the worst. Right on woodcock. OC I was thinking the same thing watching that game. They need to get rid of that rule no timeouts called less than 10 seconds before a kick. Over and done.

Big Baby

Or just no timeouts during field goals. That might be the only way.

Jimbo

we had a small amount of rain with winds in the 20-35 mph range. no damage, no loss of utilities. grateful.

OC Dolphin

Woodcock lost his toupee 3,000 miles out.

Big Baby

Hillary is blaming everyone from Bernie Sanders to Matt Lauer!

Everyone knows it was david's fault for saying she was winning in November lol

Mr. Woodcock

She's a lovely lady and my apologies to her.

Mr. Woodcock

They will be erecting statues of Donald Trump for centuries in this country just for beating this loser.

Jimbo

"What Happened" should be titled "I'm with Stupid".

Fzb3346

We just got electricity back!, man it's been miserable the last couple of days but grateful we are ok, Miami got lucky with the storm taking a more westerly path .., it could have been a lot worse.,

Things were very busy at work today, it's probably going to be like that for a while ..

Looking forward to the Dolphins opener, We should beat those guys... David and Wood's, U boys going to the game?

Mr. Woodcock

Dont think so. Prices are astronomical for first chargers la home game in a 30,000 seat stadium.

Glad you and the family are ok.

This is a huge game for miami.

(the real) david in los angeles

glad you're ok FZB.
i was supposed to go.. one of my oldest friends who has great season tickets in miami and who i go to games with there will be here on business and got a pair for us, but i have a gig i cannot get out of, unfortunately.
i will get to watch the 2nd quarter on it looks like.

OC Dolphin

Woods, you're not going to the game?

Two suggestions: One, find yourself a putrid lime green shirt with Zum-Zum written on it and get in as a hotdog selling vendor, then lose the shirt after locating the no-show seats. Heck, that worked for me and Ernie on every game in that undefeated year.

Or, Two, buy green fees and play Victoria. Then at the turn make believe you've hooked he ball OB and look for it through the stadium entrance tunnel.

Either of those would work, but if not...buy the damn tickets!!!! You've just signed your retirement papers, you cheap bum. Treat yourself in style!!!!

Mr. Woodcock

I'm going to start a new career as a limo driver driving cords between Manhattan and Hermosa pier in the completely restored Roadmaster woodie. I already have the app on Go Daddy;

Woodcock's Pier to Pier Woodie Rides.

I'm going to make six large working part time sitting at Shellback Tavern, and I'm thinking of Aurbimbing the house for 100k year and moving to Hollywood Riviera where Ray and Mary lived.

I think Im going to get accustomed to retirement quickly.

OC Dolphin

Season opener. New post!
