(the real) david in los angeles

so that means you agree that tanny was one of the better long ball passers in the game last year? lol
just curious..

OC Dolphin

Tannehill and long ball plays is not something that I automatically associate with. It's a gut thing that comes from observation about both his completions and incompletions. As well as the frequency.

(the real) david in los angeles

i understand, and it definitely was an issue early one, but one he fixed.

he still has issues; holding the ball too long, reading some coverages, etc but he has improved every year.

OC Dolphin

Tannehill is under the first year of a four year/$77M contract with the Dolphins. If I read it correctly, after this year's $20M, where it's anyone's guess as to his contribution, the Dolphins can drop him at the cost of an additional $39.5M, $4.6M against the cap. Or, keep him for the remaining 3 years/$60M that would be left on his contract.

Given that Suh's contract was also structured to go into the stratosphere around the ame time, the Dolphins may find it prudent to absorb the cost of letting Tannehill go by virtue of three things: 1. cap space flexibility vs. limitations by both Tannehill + Suh's contract, 2. Keeping Tannehill from a bang-for-the-buck POV, 3. The target rich market of incoming collegiate QBs into the league in the 2018 draft (12 or so).

My feeling is that If we see Tannehill go under the knife, we may have seen the last of him in aqua, white no orange.

Mr. Woodcock

Hang in there Dap, you sad sack son of a bitch!

He he.

Mr. Woodcock

"Improved every year...."

Sure sure whatever you say, Dap.

What's the over under on how many pick sixes Cut throws this year, OC?

And what are the odds that 007 starts the first game as the starting qb?

The least they should do is let him trot out there and take the first snap just as a show of respect for having come off the bench last year and won two games down the stretch and getting us in the playoffs. Something that ran has yet to do. Who cares if he was road grated in the Pittsburgh game at least he went back in even though he didn't have a clue where he was standing after he got destroyed on that play.

"Woody, tan really stepped it up last year."

Sure, sure Dap, whatever you say.

Mr. Woodcock

Wow, a new string OC. Most impressive.

Mr. Woodcock

Call me when you can I want ask you some questions about the area.

Mr. Woodcock

Not you Dap, your credibility took the same kind of hit like 007 took when you prognosticated the election La St year......

Big Baby

Oh no Sergio shooting his way out of it. Oh well at least he got his Major. OC are you on board with moving this tourney to May? Last Major will now be in July yuck.

Fzb3346

Blasfemy!!!!!

OC advocating getting rid of Tanny? Oye deja de fumar marijuana brother .. suelta eso .

Fzb3346

Did you guys noticed our starting MLB is the rookie from OH ?.. nice

Big Baby

He's getting rave reviews hopefully he balls out. It would make up for not drafting a lb in the first round which is what they should have done. Harris was a luxury pick.

Big Baby

Even Lamp, McMillan would have been better maybe in hindsight. Harris better be worth it.

(the real) david in los angeles

hey woody?

maybe you were watching the jaguars and thought they were the dolphins.

last year tannehiil completed a career-high 67.1 percent of his passes overall, and he improved his completion rate on passes thrown 21 to 30 yards in the air from 31.9 percent in 2015 to 45.5 percent in 2016.

in addition he took the fewest amount of sacks last year, lost the least amount of fumbles, and he posted the highest yards per pass attempt in his career.

repeat that as many times as you need to dummy.

Fzb3346

I see the insults are back , football season must be near

the shadow knows

NUKING NORTH KOREA BETWEEN ROUNDS OF GOLF....

is looking like a real possibility since the crazy north koreans don't appear to be backing away from launching missiles in the vicinity of guam and its 7,000 american servicemen and women. maybe dennis rodman can talk his good pal in north korea from starting armageddon.

OC Dolphin

These young 20-something strong golfers like Jon Rahm define new lengths. Just saw dude take out a 9-iron to hit a green 188 yards away.

Fzb3346

It looks like our rookie MLB is out for the yr, man what bad luck for the kid..we've been rack by injuries..Tannehill, McMillan, Larsen, Pouncey is still out .

Mr. Woodcock

Fuck!!!!

One Of those years.

Oh well might as well suck for the sc qb.

(the real) david in los angeles

what a nightmare.. that kid was having a pretty good camp by all reports.

i just can't believe the fucking luck this damn team has.

not like we were challenging the pats this year but damn, would have been nice to at least START the fucking season on all cylinders

OC Dolphin

Injuries are part of the game, but we must be playing the kind that defines. Geez! Think I'll write a book suggesting Hard Rock Stadium built on ancient, sacred burial grounds and no one will question it.

Fzb3346

They are going to have to get a couple of minimum pay LB's on waivers, they'll be available once teams start making cuts but of course they won't be any good .

Mr. Woodcock

Oh boy.

I blame it on the freaking Injuns and on Dave's bad karma.

Wassup Bongo Boy!!!!!

the shadow knows

LOVE WATCHING THE MAJORS!!!

the PGA might be my favorite as they include a lot of club pros in the field.

OC Dolphin

Yes, it's been great fun watching. No one is going to run away with this thing either. Day, Matsuyama and surprisingly, relatively unknown, Kevin Kisner.

After Rory failed to threaten, my money is on Matsuyama. He's dialed in.

Fzb3346

Who's that Masuyama guy OC is talking about? A sumo wrestler?

Fzb3346

It looks like our 5th round rookie DT is ahead of Phillips who sucks anyways, that was Tannenbaum's pick if I recall ... the guy sucks at picking players ... good to see Grier in charge of the draft ...

Mr. Woodcock

Dumb fucks has McMillan running down kicks. This is your starting middle linebacker and because he's a rookie they have him on special teams. Dumb fuck move. Just an incredibly thoughtless move to place a guy that you have so much riding on on special teams. He'll you 35 other guys that will never be starters on the roster right now who are cannon fodder to risk their life on special teams. If one of those guys blows a knee you just yell at him to roll off the field just like we yelled at OC in our beer league game when came into a game for his one and only at bat ever in our team history and hit a little topper in front of the late and took off for first like a bat out of Hell and blew out his hammy when he hit the bag and crumpled to the ground and stayed there for what seemed like an eternity until the ump yelled "buddy, get off the field, we don't have all day here!"

Exactly. McMillan shouldn't have been within light years from the field on special teams last night. Huge mistake.

OC Dolphin

Someone is going to have to enlighten Kevin Kisner about how repulsive his act plays on prime time. I'm sure chewin tabakie-un-spit-ng after every other shot is just fine mongst fellow rednecks, but if is totally unacceptable behavior when leading any kind of high camera telecast.

They've got coaches, caddies, and who knows what else. Dude needs an image counselor if he wishes to remain in this stage.

OC Dolphin

I'm pulling for Justin Thomas.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

doesn't he read the warning labels on the tins of tobacco? maybe he ought read about the last, sad few says of tony gwynn, who acknowledged that chewing tobacco gave him the oral cancer that took his life.

the shadow knows

BRYCE HARPER INJURY...

don't think baseball players wear cleats anymore, just these lightweight studs that don't grab the bag. of course this wouldn't be an issue if he stepped on the front of the base instead of landing on top of it. he is a truly great player and hoping he gets back soon.

Big Baby

Benintendi winning the battle of the rookies this series shadow.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

no question about that.

OC Dolphin

How cool to watch golf's "Rat Pack" waiting to congratulate another one of their own on winning a Major.

Got to lave that!

Fzb3346

Jay Cutler is starting Thursday's game in case anyone is interested

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

aaron judge seems lost at the plate. striking out three times is bad, but against chris sale is understandable. judge has six weeks to find his stroke; we shall see ifs that happens

Big Baby

Won't matter we're headed for a Boston versus LA Dodgers World Series. Devers the 20 y/o is just another rookie Boston has waiting in the wings he's been amazing. That hit off Chapman last night was a sign of things to come. Stat line this year:

.328 (19 for 58) with nine runs, three doubles, four home runs, and 10 RBIs in 15 major league games.

Mr. Woodcock

Oc, you were rooting for that bucktoothed, slanty eyed, rolly Polly chink to win it all yesterday, right? I of course was screaming at the top of his backswing on every shot.

OC Dolphin

Woodcock,

Look at the 11:50, Sat-night post.

Mr. Woodcock

Yea, that was at 11:50 on Saturday. At 3 pm on Sunday you were yelling "banzai " and waiving one of those jap white meatball flags around in your living room rooting for that slanty eyed rat bastard.

Mr. Woodcock

And speaking of rooting for someone, has anyone seen the movie "Dunkirk?" I've seen it twice. I think it's a great great movie. Would see it again in a heartbeat.

OC Dolphin

Reading how the little fat despot N Korean lunatic has gone missing for two weeks. Also, their submarines have recently been tarped at port to conceal who-knows-what. And tomorrow marks an anniversary for liberation from Japan.

Boys, this doesn't bode well. Best practice getting underneath your desks and covering up!

Big Baby

Banzai lol

OC Dolphin

I don't get it. Why sign yet another WR in Trey Griffey? That position is overloaded.

OC Dolphin

The dweeb blinked:

SEOUL—North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has decided not to launch a threatened missile attack on Guam, Pyongyang’s state media reported on Tuesday, but warned that he could change his mind “if the Yankees persist in their extremely dangerous reckless actions.”

OC Dolphin

Yep, the little fat despot pussied out. Enough common sense to recognize that China has stated they will not back him were he to start sh**. Plus, realizing that anything fired towards Guam -- even if off by miles -- would be rendered a first strike, hence an erasure of 39° 1' N, 125° 45' E.

Big Baby

Trump approval rating = LOW.

Should have voted for Ted Cruz man of the people.

Mr. Woodcock

Kim? Are you talking about that fat fuck Chink who contented and flamed out like one of those Jap zeroes in one of those great black and white John Wayne WWII movies at last week's PGA championship, OC?

Mr. Woodcock

Ah, I don't know if you've been paying attention, OC, but it's camp and they need bodies and the injuries, especially at the wide receiver position keep growing. Poor Grif is just coming in to be a tackling dummy and as a favor to his old man. I'm sure that Tony Perez who is Cuban and lives in Miami put a good word in for the kid with Jew Boy McCoy.

Next!

Mr. Woodcock

Found out the house I was buying in San Clemente is across the street from 5 houses that went over the hill during a 1994 landslide. The city restored the bluff and the owners rebuilt but I can't get insurance on the house. Dodged a bullet. I think I'll be staying in Manhattan Beach for while.

Mr. Woodcock

Yoo hoo, is that you Dave?

And a one, and a two.....

"A wunnerful, a wunnerful, a wunnerful."

Hoo, hoo, hoo.....

Big Baby

Maybe I am late to the party but Tony Lippett is out for the year? Between him, Larsen and McMillan this camp has been a BIG big disappointment. Can't ever recall that many injuries to key players.

Big Baby

Tiger fall is complete. Everyone loved him and he was good for the sport once upon a time.

Until he was exposed as a complete scumbag. Worst sports fall from grace of all time.

Mr. Woodcock

Tony Lippet just tore his achilles tendon.

Mr. Woodcock

Yup. The fucking Injuns are getting their pound of flesh for the Jews building that stadium on sacred land.

"You thinkum, Kimosabe, that honorable ancestors were just gona sit around smoking peace pipe while the Hebs make 500 percent markup on football paraphernalia and that they weren't going to raise all the evil spirits to fuck them?"

"Playoffs!"

Big Baby

Lippett injury might be worse than losing McMillan or Larsen. Passing league.

Big Baby

depth cb's and rookies are going to need to step up BIG TIME.

Big Baby

Being a third cb means we will be "ok" as long as Howard and Maxwell stay healthy. Somehow I don't see that happening but we can dream.

Mr. Woodcock

I hear that Ronnie Lott is interested in a tryout.....

Big Baby

He would be old and gray and he ain't walking through that door..

Fzb3346

What the hell is going on out there at Dolphins camp, shit we keep losing starters..Now Lippett ?

Are you guys paying attention to what Giancarlo Stanton is doing? The guy is on a HR tear like few have ever been..he's homered in 6 straight games, 44 dongs for the year now..monster yr

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

ronnie lott, kenny easley and ed reed are the best safeties in my lifetime. ronnie lott played CB for bill walsh on the first SB winner, and amazing accomplishment. plus you had to see him play basketball- maybe the best defensive guard i have ever seen. nobody could dribble around him, and he'd force them to dribble out of bounds. a smart, decent guy with amazing athletic ability.one of the best of the best of USC's brain surgeons.

Big Baby

shadow I am 46 years old I remember ronnie lott. One of the hardest hitting safeties of all time. Back when you could headhunt those days are over.

Big Baby

Tiger fall rivals the Mike Tyson fall. Tyson fall you at least saw coming.

Mr. Woodcock

Ah, I think you're forgetting #32 on the USC roster, BB.

And speaking of stiffs, where's Bongo Boy?

Yoo hoo, Bongo Boy!

OC Dolphin

Hey, Woods. Good thing you didn't buy the beach house. The price wasn't the only thing that was dropping!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TrqJ8iJxTrc

Mr. Woodcock

I came close to buying another submarine, OC.

If it wasn't for my friend Menkes I would have been fucked. I escaped by just the skin on my teeth.

Mr. Woodcock

I blame it all on Bongo. Had he not spent the weekend throwing spitballs at his 19" black and white in his apartment while CNN's coverage of the riot in Charlottesville played on and on he would have been alert and warned me of my impending doom.

Wassup, Bongo!

Big Baby

I guess woodcock but the Juice wasn't as big he played for the Bills and made Avis commercials. Tiger was larger than life.

the shadow knows

Mr. Woodcock,

in a poll of trojans greats, marcus allen was voted greatest trojan ever. #32's conduct might have been a factor in him finishing second to allen, but OJ only played for two seasons while marcus allen played four- two as a fullback and blocker for charles white and two as the featured tailback. marcus could do anything required of a football player-run, catch, block and pass. there may not gave been a better more exciting player than OJ, but marcus allen had a longer career doing multiple things.

Big Baby

Marcus Allen is on my top 3 list of greatest running backs. Al Davis got senile and let him go to the hated Chefs unexcusable.

Fzb3346

Shadow...Im ok with the three safeties you mentioned , all of them are all time greats, I personally have a warm place in my heart for two Dolphin greats, Jake Scott and Dick Anderson ....and wonder where Sean Taylor would have been at the end of his NFL career.

Greates Trojan ...I go with Anthony Munoz..the guy was a freaking wall, what a player he was.

Cutler starts tomorrow...can't wait to see how he does..

Canes QB is still unsettled , moving forward that's my biggest worry..they are pretty settle everywhere else, TE position is also thin.

Jeffrey Loria is finally out? My prayers have been answered..I think all of Miami hated the guy

OC Dolphin

I really have to give a nod to Marcus. Given the position, he had the perfect game. He could block, catch the swing pass, and most importantly to the point, his style never really allowed the defense to give him a hard, straight shot. Most everything were glancing takles.

OC Dolphin

Big reason for his durability.

Mr. Woodcock

At a time when the world seems to be going down the tubes you can always find honor, character, and sportsmanship in golf.

Man, I love this game

Much props to you kid.

Fzb,

yes anderson and jake scott were fantastic safeties, not is just that i saw the ones i listed play in college and the pros while dick a Anderson and jake scott were rarely seen on TV in california as the dolphins were emerging. my favorite football play ever is dick anderson running back an INT against the colts in 72 and getting 5-7 perfect blocks from his defensive teammates, including one that demolished johnny u near the goal line. hated the colts and that play to make it 14-0 is still giving me chills!!

the shadow knows

Fzb,

no qualms about anthony munoz, ranked as the greatest OLman in NFL history. he dominated everybody at both the collegiate and pro levels.. as stated before, he was bigger, quicker, stronger, faster and smarter than his opponents, which put them in a big hole. of course i was delighted when the bengals took him. it is old news that football is a game of blocking and tackling, and he sure had the blocking part down solid!!

Mr. Woodcock

One of my favorite safeties was Jack Tatum. He hit harder than any safety I've seen. He became an instant favorite of mine when he and Randy Gradishar came down from the frozen tundra of Columbus, Ohio and rolled into the sunny confines of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and beat the living shit and dog tar out of that mass murderer O.J. Simpson, that fucking nag Traveller, that idiotic and nagging band of fruits wearing helmets, and the rest of the brain surgeons of the University of Southern California in what turned out to be the crowning game in an undefeated season and national championship for Woody Hayes' vaunted Ohio State Buckeyes.

Fuck O.J.

"Who goofed I've got to know!"

Mr. Woodcock

Oh, oh, sorry, Shad, I didn't see that you were still in the room.......he he.

Big Baby

Cutler era begins I will be watching even it's just for one quarter. Next week is the NFl Network game national broadcast.

OC Dolphin

Spectrum (local cable) plans to show the Dolphins game at midnight, so I'll tune in then.

OC Dolphin

Everyone grows older. For those of us who pay attention, there are great nuggets of truth that reveal themselves if we're watching.

I watched - intently - the first two series that Cutler played and came away knowing that we are far better off having #6 running things than #17. No "if's, and's or but's." Now, does that mean playoffs greatness? Heck no. But I'm here to tell my view that Jay Cutler is miles better than Tannehill.

Dan Marino...Chad Pennington...Jay Cutler. In that order.

I dig how quickly things reveal themselves at this age!

Mr. Woodcock

Limpiate brother. He he. I'm at San Juan hills waiting for vinnie y el bestia who are late for a 630ntee time so I'm making time at the bar. On my second bloody of. You would be proud of me. They completely remodeled the clubhouse. Very nice.

Wassup dave!

Fzb3346

The Dolphins got trashed last night and according to early reports the O Line looked like dog shit , What the hell ..I'm tired of this shit fix the damn O Line !

Big Baby

Whole team looked bad from special teams on up. OC is sold on Cutler though so it's all good.

Big Baby

Some bright spots at CB however Ryan Mallett sucks. Mike hull maybe is starting at middle.

Big Baby

They might need to trade for a top olineman mid season.

Big Baby

Godchaux starting over Phillips FZB you must be happy. We should all be happy i guess.

OC Dolphin

Not meaning to dance on misfortune, but it looks like NE lost their #1 pick, DE, Derek Rivers, out for the season with a torn ACL.

OC Dolphin

The Dolphins Special Team: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WLlGQn_thcw

Fzb3346

BB , Phillips is a bum is very telling a rookie 5th rounder is starting ahead of him .. not sure how long he is going to be on his rookie contract but the Dolphins would be wise to let him Walk

Fzb3346

It's nice we got Cutler but unless the O Line can get it together we ain't going anywhere

Fzb3346

And BB .., Mike Hull at MLB is very average

Big Baby

No question undersized and second string. I was just reporting the news I am not excited about it. LB is a position that at least is less valued now. With nickel and dime packages it's not as important as it used to be.

Big Baby

You are looking like you are correct on Phillips. You're usually right on personnel not GMS lol.

OC Dolphin

BB,

So, I'm tuned in and watching the demonstrations unfold in nearby Boston, and spot a guy wearing an aqua bandana and headkerchif, and he's marching down the street while beating on a stuffed "Pat" the mascot.

Was that you?

OC Dolphin

Dolphins signed released Cincinnati LB, Ray Maualuga to compete against Mike Hull. Should be interesting.

Fzb3346

We only need this cat Ray "Malanguita" in first and second downs mostly, as long as he can stop a 4th and 1 I'm ok with it.
