the shadow knows

TAKING THE UNDER!!!

jay cutler will be awful and the dolphins, with the league's hardest schedule look to be between 5-6 wins.

Big Baby

You aren't in the minority shadow. There are a lot of people who feel that way it seems. Talent is there Gase has to work some magic he's done it with a lot of qb's which gives me hope. As a fan that's all you can ask for.

Mr. Woodcock

Aaaahhhhaaaaa. The total joke hall of fame preseason game this week with the cowboys and cards outdrew every single NBA playoff games this year including the finals!

Football us back.

The NBA what a freaking joke. Maybe if they had one of those darkest living Kardashian sisters fucking two seven footers at half time they can beat the ratings that ice barrel jumping posts on Wide World of Sports.

Who goofed I've got to know!

Mr. Woodcock

We have the hardest schedule?

Oh boy.

Isn't Cutler married to some smoking hot chick? At least they can show video of her in the stands after Cut throws another pick six.

Worst schedule eh shad, um, not good.

A wunnerful a wunnerful...

Big Baby

No surprises on this depth chart.

OC Dolphin

How fast can one say: "bye-bye, David Fales?"

Big Baby

O/U on Jakeem Grant fumbles? Guy needs to hold on to the football.

Big Baby

Landry being investigated for a battery charge. Not a good look.

(the real) david in los angeles

i get the cutler move; 5 weeks before the season starts, no nonsense veteran who knows the offense.
it's a good move and i trust gase.
kaepernick would be riskier with more upside, but i too trust gase and i am ok with it.

the drop off from tannehill to cutler isn't as big as some here think and if everything goes right, we could still be looking at 8-10 wins with a playoff spot.

OC Dolphin

All points points considered, signing Cutler gives them the best possible chance at success. Cutler would not have accepted anything but a starting role. Which means that the coaching staff believes that Moore is less (sorry, architect pun).

The tea leaves suggest that we may have seen the last of Tannehill as a Dolphin. I took a look at his contract and the amount of bucks he would be getting may be to rich which may convince management to absorb a one year hit. Moreover, when THIS was supposed to be his breakout year. Whenever he returns Tan will still have to prove his worth.

Fzb3346

U non believers infidels better get on the Cutler bandwagon , we are going to make the playoffs , yeah I said it.

Of course I've been drinking heavily also

OC Dolphin

Too

the shadow knows

DO ANY OF THE CITIZENS THINK..

that there were better options for the dolphins than jay cutler? methinks he will be lousy and sas stated previously that 6 games would be the ceiling for the slow minded former bear. still can't shake the memory on the NYG sacking him 7b or 8 times in the first half of a monday nighter.

the shadow knows

(the real david)

with so optimistic an attitude, i'd would take your premier or slingerand drum kit (or both) and take the over, whatever vegas has established it post #17.

Big Baby

If there was a better option shadow let me know. I like Cutler better than Kaepernick. Anyone else is fail city (besides maybe Matty).

(the real) david in los angeles

kaepernick is the better athlete, and his running would've fit rather nicely.

cutler might be a better all around QB, but the fact he knows our system and knows gase makes the move a prudent one.

cutler won't remind anyone of marino but like i wrote before, this might be the best team he's ever been on and i think he will do just fine.

and shadow, not only am i a ludwig drums endorser, i have a sizable collection of vintage ones from the 40s, 50s, 60's and a blue vistalite from the 70's.
not a premier or a slingerland to be found!

OC Dolphin

Every now and then david sees it clearly.

OC Dolphin

My choice and pursuit would have been Jimmy Garoppolo. Tom Brady has made it clear that he's in no rush to retire, hence, Jimmy plays the Moore card. Too bad. Were he to have a smidgion more desire he would insist on a trade.

To borrow a shadow descriptor, to these eyes and outside Prescott, ain't no youngens better.

(the real) david in los angeles

when i am talking dolphins, you rarely disagree with me, OC.

as for cutler, look for parker and stills to catch a ton of deep balls this year.

garoppolo is a free agent next year, so that might be a move to consider.

OC Dolphin

Mr. Woodcock,

Check this out. Apparently, there is a Tuesday tradition at each year's PGA Championship -- a long drive competition. This year they are playing it wet Quail Hollow, so granted, not much roll. The current leader is Jason Kokrak with a 321 yard drive.

Any guess as to who holds the longest drive record? Jack Nicklaus, 1963, 341 yard drive...WITH 1963 EQUIPMENT!!!!

OC Dolphin

...that vintage persimmon driver you were gifted produced that drive! Incredible.

OC Dolphin

...and balata balls. Wow.

Big Baby

DJ hit one 345 last week I think.

the shadow knows

JAY CUTLER-$10 million!!!!

the dolphins pick a guy off the scrap heap and hand him fortune; unreal

OC Dolphin

Just goes to demonstrate. No sane person would argue against technology and that it hasn't had an affect to the average golfer's game. Clearly it has. What it does suggest, however, is that such technological advancements provide consistently more good shots to the average golfer. Pros from the sixties, at least, who literally hit drives "on the screws" were able to launch prodigious drives every bit as impressive as today's young golfers.

Otherwise, how can one still account for Jack's 341!?

the shadow knows

(the real david),

only mentioned premier drums as a nod to the who and their great album "the who sells out"

OC Dolphin

Doesn't Mickey Mantle still hold claim to the longest homer in ever hit? If I remember, Jose Canseco had another upper, upper deck monster back in his day.

Must be climate change!

the shadow knows

GETTING RACIAL HERE:

ESPN ranks michael jordan as the greatest "black" athlete ever. pardon me, but i would vote for jackie robinson-baseballer, track and basketball and football star at UCLA.

the shadow knows

DID I FORGET...

track and field star also? jordan may be the best basketball player (not to me, i vote wilt), but muhammad ali alton ranks above jordan

OC Dolphin

BB,

Last week they held a long drive contest at some place in mile-high Colorado, I believe. The participants (men & women) were jacking gargantuan drives. For the men I believe 441 won.

No question technology and specialization produces such results. All that I'm pointing attention to is that yesteryear's top guys delivered comparable tape-measure jacks.

OC Dolphin

shadow,

Where does ESPN place Hershel Walker? He's got to be up there.

Big Baby

shadow I think maybe one or two starting QB's in the league make less than Jay Cutler at 10 million. You really don't like that guy.

OC Dolphin

Best athlete should consist of high achievements in multiple sports, not just one.

Big Baby

I hope Cutler has a great year and the Bears and their fans are exposed as complete bozos.

OC Dolphin

One thing is for sure, BB. Cutler is being given a more talented team, certainly one with the best collection of targets he's ever had.

Fzb3346

The Cutler signing was a no brainer and the right choice since Cutler knows the system , Kap would have been an interesting choice but it would have been a learning curve..

U guys need to trust Gase on this one

OC Dolphin

Reports out of Tuesday Dolphins practice are very encouraging for our new QB. Cutler, fresh off the bus threw well and deep.

Can Tannehill's injury actually yield a blessing in disguise? No one wishes for injuries to happen, but we all pretty much knew what we were and NOT getting with Tannehill.

Yes, he's mobile. Although one has to wonder given his depleting knee how much running he was going to be allowed to do. Yes, he can take a pounding, but then again (see above).

We also know that when thinking throwing deep, ACCURATELY, Tannehill was certainly not the QB most would not bring to mind.

Gents, we may have just caught an accidental break.

8.8. May just be today's date.

OC Dolphin

Sorry for the wrong tenses above. Typing on a small screen with limited scroll back.

OC Dolphin

I know it's very early and sight unseen, but I want you all to know that I'm leaning 11-5.

Mr. Woodcock

Agree that cut is same as tan .

Move along here nothing to see.

It's all about the Canes anyway.

the shadow knows

CUTLER GETS RAVES IN CAMP!!!!

WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU EXPECT? let's see him in a game before going wild about the new addition

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

hershel walker was and still is a great athlete. better than bo, which is pretty darn great.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

by some quirk they rated him with his jersey #-34. absurd. gabby douglas ahead of hershel- totally absurd beyond words!!!!!

Fzb3346

OC... for your information Tannehill was one of the most accurate long ball QB's last year, Tanny will have his surgery and come back better than ever next yr..

It's early in the process with Cutler but it's easy to see why Gase wanted him , the guy knows the system, he just needs to get in football shape..

Canes in full camp now, we will be very good but QB could be our weakness ... I'm worried

Fzb3346

First time EVER I'm going to miss watching the Dolphins 1st pre season game live.. WTF ?

Everything up here is Jags .. I'm think I'm gonna puke

OC Dolphin

FZ,

Tannehill, a great deep ball passer?!

I'm sorry. No insult intended towards you, dear friend, but allow me to react this way...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...hahahahahahaha...

(the real) david in los angeles

oc, are you really posting a bad pass to mike wallace as evidence that tannehill isn't a good deep ball passer?

why not look at the numbers from last year?

ah.. i get it..

if you actually looked at the NUMBERS and not some video from 2013, you'd see tannehill was the 8th most accurate deep ball passer in the league.

yeah. #8.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2715180-nfl-1000-ranking-the-most-accurate-passers

Fzb3346

OC... oye marica, Tannehill WAS top ten last year in deep ball accuracy like David said... check

Tanny needs to have his surgery and come back strong next yr, funny thing all the experts are saying if Cutler has a great yr Tannehill will be traded next yr , what asswipes .

THE PGA MOVING TO MARCH?

guess the little brother of the majors gets lost at themed of summer. common knowledge i go for tradition.

Big Baby

It's moving to May just another stupid move by the PGA like the awful US Open they treated us to this summer. Should remain in August agree on tradition with you.

Big Baby

I must be getting old.
