the shadow knows

Big Baby,

i stand with Mr. Woodcock in stating that neither of the finalists had an even somewhat respectable presence in the middle to handle all those drives straight down the middle. Mr. Woodcock suggests the late and great maurice lucas, a mean hombre on the court and a great complement to a healthy walton in portland.

(the real) david in los angeles

the core of the warriors were homegrown draft picks; of course, they were building that team when you started getting all of YOUR picks which is another reason why you are butt hurt.

jerry west, who owned your shit celtics when he was with the lakers STILL owns your dumb asses because the warriors were drafting draymond green while you morons took jared sullinger..

hahahahahahaha

how did lester hudson, luke harangody and all those other great picks work out?

you team sucks.
you cannot draft to save your life which is why i wasn't worried when you got the pick again this year.
take ball, take whoever you want.

it doesn't matter.

you're under coached, you cannot play defense and your only player is a shoot first point guard who couldn't stay healthy in the playoffs; maybe because he shot the ball too much in the regular season.. lol

you aren't winning the east before miami does AGAIN, and there's nothing you can do about it.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

bird with walton was a spectacular pairing. a reasonably healthy walton contributing 10-12 high quality minutes made the celtics an incredibly tough bunch. the series with the friday no a/c in the boston garden was an amazing one.

(the real) david in los angeles

again dumb ass, they aren't a stacked all star team.

their core was drafted, idiot.

they signed an all star in durant, not doubt; so did you with thomas.

and a few years ago you signed TWO all stars so clean that nasty pussy of yours and stop whining.

it's not a good look complaining about signing a player when you idiots in boston signed more than they did.

(the real) david in los angeles

leave it to a butt hurt celtics child to cry about the warriors signing durant.

no heat fan is whining that bullshit; we know the game and we know how free agency is played.

instead of crying like the little bitch you are, figure our how to get some perimeter defenders and a shot blocking post presence in the paint and figure out how to beat the warriors.

that's what we're doing in miami.

take a cue from a real team that knows how to win and doesn't have to look back to the 80's to when they were a consistent winning team.

sad!

Big Baby

dave Israel did you no favors you're still a little pansy.

the shadow knows

THEY'RE BACK TO TOSSING IT AROUND!!

fellers, c'mon. how about a return to civility. looking forward to the 30 for 30 re celtics and lakers.

Big Baby

dave was in east LA while Boston was playing in the Eastern Conference Finals sorry shadow.

So many flaws in his retarded thinking process it's hard to be civilized.

Big Baby

uh oh here we go shadow the best team ever talk has begun..67 Sixers, 72 Lakers, 83 Sixers, 86 Celtics, 87 Lakers, 96 Bulls are out.

Big Baby

That said Vegas has them as the biggest preseason favorite in NBA history right now though. All Star Team.

Big Baby

"I come here to hate on the teams I don't like".

Big Baby

Just because your core players were drafted or acquired in a trade doesn't mean you can't have a team of all stars. I give the Warriors a lot of credit for assembling that team the way they did.

How is the 30 for 30 guys? Back then I wasn't a Celtics fan and thought the Showtime Lakers were a much more exciting team.

Big Baby

You have to give credit to Cleveland as well. Hard to think that series wouldn't have gone near 7 games without the Durant factor. Cleveland is a very good team.

Big Baby

NBA off season should be very interesting with the draft and some stars may be on the move. Might not matter for a few more years if the Warrior team is still around for the next 2-3 years. Most teams are building for 2020 and beyond at this point.

(the real) david in los angeles

of course you weren't a celtics fan, you carpet bagging little queen.

back then you liked the raiders and the lakers.

you have no core and no identity; when you come out of the closet then maybe you will.

how the warriors got their players only underscores how horrible the celtics are; it doesn't quantify whether they're all stars or not.

so again dumb ass, you're telling everyone here that a team with only 2 hall of fame players is a "stacked" team of "all stars"?

you can dance, cry, whine and moan, but no one here agrees with you.

TWO HALL OF FAMERS.

the heat's championship team had more all stars.

so did the spurs.

so did your celtics several years ago.

the warriors have 2.

stop crying.
only the celtics and other overrated one dimensional teams are giving up until 2020.

real teams are adjusting, looking to defend the paint and the perimeter and stop golden state.

enjoy the fact you lucked into the conference finals while embarrassingly exposing yourselves as the worst #2 in the east team in the history of professional basketball.

what an ugly egg boston laid; just a pathetic embarrassment.

you got hammered, shamed, ridiculed and schooled by another overrated team.. lol

we'll show you next year how it's done, sweetie.

Big Baby

Klay Thompson was an All star in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Draymond Green was an All Star in 2016, and 2017.

Big Baby

Both are 2 time All NBA team members.

Big Baby

Celtics were a # 1 seed to be exact. Same team you said would lose to Washington, Toronto, Indiana et. Doesn't matter anyway Cleveland could take half a season off they only care about beating the Warriors. They are miles ahead of every team in the East.

Big Baby

Trying to be civilized shadow.

(the real) david in los angeles

spare me the excuses.

cleveland isn't miles ahead of any team in the east; even YOURS if you retarded GM gets some defensive help and inside help.

miami will challenge cleveland next year; bosh's money is finally off the books and we finished the 2nd half better than every team in the league instead of the warriors.

yes, the warriors have "all stars".
they have a great team and a great coach.
they do not have more talent than the celtics had with their big 3 or miami had with theirs.

the warriors are playing perfect basketball and they've maximized the talent they have, PERIOD, much the way san antonio did the year they beat us.

Big Baby

Warriors won 73 games last year without Kevin Durant. You remember that right? That nba record thing?

Big Baby

Ainge retarded lol from the lottery to one seed in 3 years.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

really enjoyed the lakers/celtics show last night. tonight must include the series of 85 with the "memorial day massacre" courtesy of scott wedman. no happy ending for you that year

the shadow knows

NOBODFY SEEMS TO RECALLL...

that the lakers got swept twice in the 80s, to the sixers and by detroit. granted they had many injured players, but two sweeps in a decade of excellence shouldn't be forgotten. if i remember, both magic and cooper, my favorite laker, were out of the series early; or maybe it was byron scott. the lakers were fortunate to beat the pistons the year before the sweep, and detroit had a ton of talent.

Big Baby

Not for me shadow actually hated the Celtics back then if you can believe it. Didn't like any of the NE teams now I like three go figure. Too funny I used to piss people off back then bandwagon fan loved it!

Big Baby

true shadow but that was their third straight finals appearance in 89 and and they won 2 of them.

Big Baby

Benintendi is heating up walk off hit last night and a HR

Big Baby

Hey dave I have been a Dolphins fan for 30 years fu very much.

the shadow knows

DEATH OF KEITH RICHARDS' LONG-TIME BABE:

anita pillenberg stuck it out with keith richards through numerous ups and more numerous downs, which takes a lot. RIP

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

it would be great for baseball for benintendi to have a great, great season and have a real battle with judge for ROY. in some circles he is being compared to fred lynn, which is saying a lot-MVP and ROY in the same season.

re the lakers: against the pistons i favored the lakers as the pistons were disgusting as a team and many of their players -read bill
lambier, who actually had to work his way into the NBA from the minors. he was on the great ND team with orlando woolridge and kelly tripucka that got beat by BYU in the NCAA tourney by danny ainge and his full court charge to the winning lay-in. an incredible upset!! but in college danny hinge was invoking memories of jerry west, but not even close in reality. hinge was a great, great college player who found his way back from failure as a baseball player to become a vital part of the 80s celtics.

the shadow knows

MARCEL OZUNA HAVING AN ALL-STAR SEASON:

he belongs in the game much more than stanton, and am sure he will be a manager's selection as a reserve as he won't get the fans' votes to start. this year he is one of baseball's best.

Fzb3346

shooting in Virginia today political related and at UPS facility in San Francisco, WTF is going on out there people?

the shadow knows

SO NOW THE CAVLIERS...

are entertaining notions of adding carmelo anthony or blake griffin, which will make the regular season more dull than it is already. having 90% of the top tier of talent distributed between 2-3 teams is a joke, which i hope this stuff is.

the shadow knows

Fzb,

we live in a crazed world with crazed people!! thank G-d we have a normal crew of bloggers here with OC!!!

Big Baby

Carmelo is past his prime but could help. Great shooter on a bad team for a long time.

Big Baby

I loved Bill Laimbeer and his style of play. Back before the worm went nuts fun physical team.

Big Baby

I liked having no identity as dave would say I appreciated all types of players. Laetner, Laimbeer you got it.

(the real) david in los angeles

the cavs want carmelo??!

hahahahahahaha

that's the last thing they need.

perimeter defense, speed and interior defense is the only way to challenge the warriors.

blake griffin is an interesting proposition, but the cavs are screwed.

couldn't happen to a better owner too.

like i said, if teams like miami, boston, washington or toronto make the right moves, they're right in the mix for the eastern conference.

we'll see who the smart GM's are very soon..

Jimbo

shadow. Mick and Keith always referred to Anita Pallenberg as one of the group. At least from a couple of book sources I read. She shared a bed with 3 of the band Brian first, then Keith, Mick on a fling during "performance". At least in the before Mick married Bianca, wives didn't tour with the band except Anita.

Keith keeps chugging along.

I was watching a you tube documentary on the Stones recently. Black and white footage, filmed sometime 69-70 during an Australian tour. Aussie media wasn't playing nice and Mick was getting mouthy with some of the reporters. A part really cracked me up when a female reporter-journalist was beside the camera commenting "Oh, there's Mick Jagger, front man with drummer Charlie Watts. There's bass player Bill Wyman with sax player Bobby Keys. Oh, and that's guitar player Keith Richards (Keith looked high and haggard) & You know he'll never live to see 70!" aahahaha . laughed my ass off & thought hell Keith probably out lived her.

the shadow knows

WATCHING IT AGAIN!!!!

ESPN is showing last night's installment of the lakers/celtics, and watching the 84 series is a pleasure. that friday night meltathon was one of the great games all-time in the NBA.

the shadow knows

Jimbo,

the stones' babes were first class beauties! marianne faithfull was train smoke before the heroin got to her and she looked and sounded craggy. what a stone fox and really great singer- particularly love "summer nights".

the shadow knows

TERRIFIC SHOW...

ESPN's program about the lakers/celtics was wonderful to watch, especially the minutes given to bill walton's years with the team.

Fzb3346

Carmelo to the Cav's??? I hope it happens, that cat can't play ANY defense.

IF things turn right for the Heat we will be able to add a couple of nice pieces in free agency and add a good young player through the Draft, Jedi Master Riley knows what to do, I trust him.

and the witch hunt on Trump continues, in the end nothing will happen, move along.

the shadow knows

HARDLY EVEN MUCH BEISBOL!!!!

hockey and basketball done, travel day for many teams, and three games at 7 tonight. a rather sparse night for sports viewing. the lakers/celtics series was terrific, and as stated i much appreciated the director including bill walton's 85-86 contribution to boston's team. i believe they are correct in stating that that team was their best, except that the houston rockets (ralph sampson-(OY VEY) spoiled another rematch.

Big Baby

Boston two games back of NYY and playing well. Going to be a good race the rest of the way I think they play something like 14 more times or something crazy.

Big Baby

Looking at the standings I can't see any other team in the WS besides Boston, NYY, or Houston in the AL. The AL Central is a horrible division the West same except for the Astros. Astros vs Sox series beginning tomorrow looking forward to seeing that Astros lieup close up still can't get used to them in the AL.

Big Baby

So much for the Tribe predictions looks like they won't be returning to the WS after the offseason hype they are 31-31.

Big Baby

woodcock might be at the Angels vs Yankee game tonight or maybe he already went.

Fzb3346

not much going on tonight, I think I'll watch the 30 for 30 on the Celtics and Lakers, I've heard nothing but great reviews .

that's right

Fzb3346

I can't stand the Yankees but they have a bunch of great young players plus they have all the money in the world..they look like contenders to me.

the shadow knows

WHAT IS THAT BUSHY STUFF AT ERIN HILLS?

guess i've seen rough before, but that stuff is gruesome. understand they wanna make an open course difficult, but a ball in that stuff is the end of someone's tournament.

the shadow knows

HEAT INTERESTED IN JUSTIN JACKSON?

i root for UNC, but justin jackson had a terribly inconsistent season last year, especially shooting. he has nice moves into the lane and a very nice soft floater, but his shooting was abysmal. heat interested in him? have watched him a bunch, but the title game was a real indicator of his season last go round.

the shadow knows

SAWSOMEBODY HITTING A BALL OUT OF THAT "STUFF":

what a bizarre look to,that course. what do they call it-"fescue"? awful

Big Baby

shadow why are they playing the US Open on a links course? It was bad enough when they did it two years ago. Winning score will be near -15 terrible.

Big Baby

First round US Open record for players under par.

Big Baby

44 players under par.

OC Dolphin

Fairways are lllllll. . . W I D E . . .lllllll
between all that hay. We are talking about the best players in the world, so no complaints here concerning the course or the player's ability to distinguish themselves. This, as evidenced through those graphics which show tight grouping of dots were the player's balls landed. Note the ideal placement.

Unless the wind picks up, the Sunday winner will be in the - 20 range and from a four player playoff.

OC Dolphin

Hehehehe...if they really wanted to make the course punitive they would have lined each side of the rough with Democrats and lefties!

Big Baby

I am glad you are enjoying The John Deere classic OC.

the shadow knows

BRAD LEAF OVER JUSTIN JACKSON!!!

the bruin was a good shooter last year and had a way better season than justin jackson.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

from what you are saying, a 20 under par winner and a four golfer playoff doesn't sound like erin hills is a difficult course. still remember thebgreat open with el tigre and rocco mediate at torrey pines in la jolla. was that el tigre's last great stand?

Mr. Woodcock

Testing

OC Dolphin

shadow,

The weather forecast shows only scattered showers and a chance of 25 mph gusts on Sunday. This means that the only way the USGA can ratchet up toughness is by setting up really difficult pin placements. That's it. Given the football-field wide fairways, both Mr. Woodcock and I could hit 3woods all day off the blue tees and score respectfully.

OC Dolphin

I take that back...Woodcock would have to hit from the red tees!

Big Baby

7800 yards OC you sure about that.

the shadow knows

RICKIE FOWLER STILL ON TOP?

the ole shadow wakes up for the majors, and i guess i am awake. will try to look in at the tournament before the Holy Sabbath to see who is where on the leaderboard.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

impossible pin placements, to me, don't compensate for a par 3 course hosting what is supposed to be the toughest course on the tour for the US Open crown. and that fescue stuff? looks like the muff of an italian broad that has never seen a razor in all her days. UGGGHHHH!

OC Dolphin

That's from the tips, BB. I just checked the scorecard here: https://course.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/course/course/erinhills/actual.htm

6228 from the whites,
6752, greens
7176, blues

OC Dolphin

shadow,

Let's not overlook the fact that all these guys have the benefit of a thousand folks tracking where their balls land in all that rough. You and I would have to reload if we were to see our shots heading into the hay.

Btw, Brooks Koepka now leads at -9

OC Dolphin

Tied at 9 now.

the shadow knows

LEBRON JAMES-WHINER!!!!

saying he was never on a "super team", and that previous "super teams" included the lakers with an ancient karl malone and gary payton, and the rockets with charles barkley and clyde drexler. in my lifetime, i believe the only super team was created when wilt was added to elgin baylor and jerry west- a team that went to 4/5 finals, losing tom the knicks twice, and the celtics once. the 69-70 knicks were an incredible team- one that set the then league record 18 in a row, beat a lakers team in 7 that had wilt who missed most of the season and got a performance for the ages in game 7 in 1970 from walt frazier. the 71-72 lakers were an incredible bunch, winning 33 in a row which i don't even see the warriors overcoming. as stated previously in regard to offensive lines, you don't build an effective bunch by adding pieces form elsewhere but by having players mesh together by playing together, like the super bowl dolphins line and the lines of GB and the dallas cowboys, and oakland raiders of the mid to late 60s and 70s.
lebron james just needed to rationalize why his team lost in 5 games, after a year in which they were lucky to get drayman green suspended which turned that series around. a whiner!! the best player in the world crying about losing a finals, an experience he has endured 5 times in his career,m including a sweep by the spurs. where is he going next? who cares?

OC Dolphin

shadow,

James always being compared to the great MJ, processing more physical gifts, but perhaps lacking that extra refinement that comes from playing, being coached, and winning at the highest level of college ball.

Sour grapes Kool-Aid needs a new brand face.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

the red sox are becoming a sunday night staple on ESPN's broadcasts. guess you see their games anyway. how is david price doing?

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

getting coached by dean smith in college never hurt anybody, even if coach dean didn't always turn them loose at UNC and had them play in his system, with walter davis being the prime example.

Big Baby

Of course they are a staple shadow division winners last year and a World Series threat every year don't act so surprised.

Big Baby

There is no lacking extra refinement for Lebron James OC get real. His team isn't as good or as deep as the Superteam Warriors nothing more.

Mr. Woodcock

Holly Sonders is by far the best part of the U.S. open. Just a magnificent piece of ass. Right now she's leading the tournament by a mile in my book.

Va va va voom!

Big Baby

Price pitching tomorrow shadow watched yesterday a pitcher's duel but that Astros lineup is really good.

Mr. Woodcock

I'd like to see Hoffman win he's a blue collar guy but Justin Thomas just has mad game. His 3 wood today on 18 was a work of art worthy of a Rembrand. This is the New young creme of the crop rising to the surface. So many great young American golfers on your today. May just be the hardest time to separate yourself from the field in pga history. What a leaderboard. It's going to be anyone's tournament to win tomorrow.

Big Baby

Erin Hills has been a snoozefest. I watched Revenge of the Nerds 4 today instead Booger gets married.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

you might be spot on about a four way playoff in he open.

OC Dolphin

BB,

Consider yourself comfy hanging around with FZB at the 13th windmill hole, while banking it off the turtle's shell.

OC Dolphin

Here's the thing...if you play regularly then you appreciate things like what Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas delivered on 18. Hitting two shots from 663 yards away, and in Thomas' case, making eagle!

Well, that level of appreciation only comes from golfers.

Sorry, BB.

Big Baby

At least Miller's Oakmont record wasn't broken at this track my goah

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

el tri came from behind twice to tie the current euro champs. they are in it tough, but should they defeat the hosts-the blasted russkis- into the semi final they go. they have been playing well and chicharito got a header today. tying the game in its last seconds is a big boost for el tri, who will head to the WC where they have been pretty competitive. and those ears on hector herrerra-they are off sides any time he turns sideways!!!!!

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

in the ole shadow's youth, the windmill hole was the 18th and if you put your ball into the designated area- about 3" by3"-you got a free game. i am not a golfer-king of the 1 iron as i can't handle those drivers-but i appreciate a good shot as much as any of the duffers. methinks the best shot i have seen is the one where years ago-i think it was at the PGA-sergio garcia put his bull right at the base of a tree which was preventing from the fairway. the announcers stated that if he took a full swing and hit the tree he'd break his arm- but the guy walloped it, got onto the fairway and came out unscathed. happy the guy won the masters after being among the world leaders for so long. he was a kid when he made that shot at the PGA (?), but it was a man that got the green jacket.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

as you forecast, a bunch at the top of the leaderboard. but looking at those bushes that qualify as rough is difficult on the eyes.

Big Baby

Cow pasture shadow that's what they play the US Open at now.

Big Baby

Doesn't look very gallery friendly either people are a mile away from the action.

the shadow knows

THE MARLINS!!!!

bring an outfielder into the infield, and brandon philips puts it right up the middle with dee gordon standing on second motionless!! another marlins loss!! SS made no attempt at fielding the grounder and the marlins gag again!!

looking forward to seeing david price tonight and your guy benindenti playing for the first time.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL!!

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

agree that the wide, wide fairways don't make for a great view from those in the gallery. the US open played, as you stated, on a cow pasture!!! torrey pines this ain't!!!

I checked to see if there are any Cubano restaurants in Jacksonville and there's not many options so that's a bummer , on a bright note they do have a couple of Pollo Tropicals..and lots of Mejicano places..which i don't particularly like

Fzb3346

is there anything else going on?..

Big Baby

shadow El Tri is on my list of top 5 contenders at the next World Cup. Best team they have had in a long time it seems.
