OC Dolphin

Here are my list of players for the first round. I would be very surprised if the guy they end up with is not on this list.

(in order of grade)

08. Forrest Lamp, G/T, W. Kentucky
12. Derek Barnett, DE, Tenn
13. Haason Riddick, LB Temple
14. David Njoku, TE, Miami
19. Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
20. Takkaris McKinley, DE, UCLA
22. Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
26. Charles Harris, LB, Missouri
27. Malik McKonell, DT, Michigan St
29. Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida

Fzb3346

and some of you guys are telling me the Dolphins don't need to draft offensive linemen?

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article146439994.html

yeah right.

Mr. Woodcock

Here is the guy that we should be going after when he drops like a rock. If we could pick him up in the third round it would be ca$hing city!

Love me them druggies, dog abusers, rapists, mass murderers, anarchists, arsonists, psychopaths, and grave robbers, anyone whose a bargain in the draft and we can pick up first round talent in the second or third rounds, anyone at all unless of course he's a registered Democrat like that dip shit Dave.

Wassup Dave!

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/report-michigans-jabrill-peppers-tested-positive-drug-test-diluted-sample-181428150.html

OC Dolphin

..."Rustlers, cut-throats, murderers, bounty hunters, deperados,
mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, half-wits, dimwits, vipers, snipers,
con-men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggers,
bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse-thieves, bull-dykes, train
robbers, bank-robbers, butt-kickers, and Methodists!"

Big Baby

He will probably be a stud but many wonder about his cover skills. Think we might be set at safety after McDonald comes back from an 8 game suspension woodcock. Your kind of guy!

Big Baby

Your Bulls not looking too good right now woodcock. Not when Freddy Hioberg starts talking loser talk after the game.

YOUR GOING DOWN FREDDY. How about putting an extra defender on IT you dipsh*t if you can't defend him. PALM THIS!!

Big Baby

dave says it's all Rondos fault lol. Like a guy who shows up once a year makes the difference in the series. If Chicago was banking on the tripping fool Rondo then they desreve to lose.

Mr. Woodcock

Yes sir. I want the Dolphins new nickname to be "The Leper Colony" just like the name of the misfit airplane in the movie "Twelve O'clock High."

The entire team could be high as a kite by 12 o'clock as long as we're winning.

"Just win baby."

Mr. Woodcock

Say, Dave, do you think that you guys could win an election anytime soon?

"French commies take it up the ass in presidential election."

Le Monde

Mr. Woodcock

You can add Obama's name to that list, OC. Right between Mexican bandits and muggers.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

clicked on woodcock's link and the computer went nuts!!! but the ole shadow (with the help of apple support) has returned!!! jabril peppers diluted pee? laramy tunsil doesn't happen very often; jabril peppers doesn't have a position at which he excels over the others; he'd be a good handyman for the dolphins but they need a specialist.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

the leaves played amazingly well against a veteran cup challenger. it says here the capitals over the penguins and caps to win the whole shebang!!!

OC Dolphin

shadow, I'm not sure why your computer reacted as such. I rather doubt that it was associated with anything Typepad. My guess that it was some form of computer STD woodcock contracted. He is constantly around rather questionable characters in less than lucid condition.

Fzb3346

Lets see now...The alibami LB Foster in the first round, Peppers in the second and the Oklahoma RB in the third rd...the new Raiders, just win baby.

Jimbo

failed tests, ankle bracelets, bring it on.

Big Baby

Jake Long retires and so ends the failed vision of drafting a LT over a franchise QB.

Big Baby

Foster will fall in the draft only question is how far. Miami should take him if he's there. Otherwise Hasson Riddick, or Jarrad Davis could be there for the taking. I would take Zach Cunningham as a 4th option. I heard he led the SEC in tackles last season high motor player. Might end up being better than some of those other names in the long run.

Big Baby

You nailed it OC draft for need until you started mentioning Njoku..

Jimbo

good thread OC

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

they mentioned that jake the fake and orlando pace were the only tackles drafted first overall since the merger. true, but the ole shadow remembers ron yary going first in the 67 draft to the vikings where he made many all-pro teams, despite the fact that his only option for handling deacon jones was to hold/grab deacon. he was a good run blocker, but deacon would foam at the mouth at the mention of his name. am sure he could handle lesser pass rushers than the ram immortal, but wasn't up to control deacon jones- few were.

the shadow knows

HOW MUCH WILL...

bruce jenner's pecker bring on e-bay? my wife informed me that he is "getting rid" of his obsolete shmeckel. have asked the spouse to not mention bruce jenner to me in any incarnation. makes me wanna gag!!!

Mr. Woodcock

I'll send you the Cliff Notes for that book, OC.

OC Dolphin

Rachel Maddow might be bidding on that.

Mr. Woodcock

Here's Woodcock's can't miss draft picks for the Dolphins for the second and third rounds, Kenny Mixon, Jabrill Peppers. Now if only they could put some video of Jonathan Allen robbing a liquor store in Mobile then we'd be in business.

Next!

Mr. Woodcock

You never ever draft for need unless your needs can be filled by the next best player available on the board.

How many are in the Hall of Fame who were passed on by teams who took Joe Blow because they needed a guard and passed on someone like Randy Moss?

Joe Thomas and Pete Beathard were one of the greatest front office teams in NFL history and their mantra for assembling great football teams through the draft was always "you take the best player left on the board when it's your turn to draft."

Mr. Woodcock

You can't go into the draft, unless you're going to be one of the teams picking in the top 5, with a set plan on who and what position your going to go after. You play the draft the same way that you play poker. You go in with a general plan and know how much money you're willing to spend at any time and you let the game come to you. Sometimes you get what you need and other times you get what you want.

I think the Rolling Stones had a hit with that line.

Mr. Woodcock

Oye, instead of reading that boring book you can listen to it on books on audio. I guarantee you that if you listen to it you'll be fast asleep sawing logs after the first two minutes of the guy saying, "and in the beginning God created the..."

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Mr. Woodcock

And the Trump rally continues. Nasdi breaks the 6,000 point plateau. Most impressive. Up, up, and awayyyyy!

Blow it out your ass Dave!!!!

Mr. Woodcock

Brad Kaaya's name is conspicuously absent from any draft talks. I haven't even heard his name mentioned once. Why did he make the decision to go pro with his college body of work? Sounds like the kid got some bad advice. He could have stayed in college for one more year and probably improved his draft stock.

Mr. Woodcock

My kind of politician.

http://headlinesnetwork.com/article/www.miamiherald.com/9f14139814506f9cce0146c8d11588c6/politics-talk/slideshow/florida-state-senator-hired-models-consultants?v=0

Big Baby

shadow the leaves are going to be a major pain in the neck soon in the East. I liked it much better when they were down.

Big Baby

Rnagers another team that seems to underachieve yearly. Mabe they break through this year they beat a good one seed Canadiens team.

Fzb3346

a politician hiring hoes?..nothing wrong with it I say.

Fzb3346

and I still don't think the Alibami LB will be there at 22, of course I never saw the Tunsil slide last year either.

Fzb3346

the Dolphins are targeting DE's in the first round?

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article146593599.html

Fzb3346

here's what I know and I'm no expert on the draft...but IF the best LB in the whole draft ( Foster ) is there at 22 you get him,, the same thing for Lamp who is the best interior lineman in the whole draft.

U rush to the podium..either one

Fzb3346

here's another cat we can pick up in the later rounds..

http://www.landgrantholyland.com/2017/4/25/15422950/gareon-conley-sexual-assault-investigation-cleveland-2017-nfl-draft

keep'em coming

Big Baby

Then Armando goes on to finish with this:

But, sources say, the team will be more likely to pick higher graded players at other positions at No. 22 than either of those two edge rushers.

Why even lead with that headline then? Clickbait? Just being annoying? Both?

Big Baby

Got enough cb's. Don't need one (a first rounder no less) that could potentially be arrested for rape any minute. Geesh.

Big Baby

Not burning a second or a third on him either.

Fzb3346

BB...here, this is for you..try to stay calm.

http://slicemiami.com/2017/04/25/david-njoku-miami-dolphins-nfl-draft/

Big Baby

why did Kayaa leave woodcock?

Big Baby

wow FZ Omar proves he's really a moron. Mcshay too. What are they going to do run a double tight end set with three all star WR's and a top 5 rb? Not happening Gase wouldn't let it.

Big Baby

only way i could see it happening is if they had previously arranged a draft day trade for Julius Thomas. So far all you hear is how Thomas might have been a steal and how he loves gase so no they aren't bringing in njoku. I can't be the only one who thinks this right?

Fzb3346

like I said BB..try to stay calm.

Big Baby

haha

Fzb3346

best player available buddy..questions for you all draft experts.

IF all three of these players are there at 22, who you got?

Njoku-TE

Foster-LB

Lamp-G

Me?..as much as I love Lamp I would take Foster, the guy is a top 10 player.

Fzb3346

BB..here's another one for you from Omar Kelly..

I have FSU's Dalvin Cook as the 5th best talent in this draft. That means if I'm committed to BPA I take him at 22.

Dolphins take Dalvin Cook, RB..watch your blood pressure there.

Big Baby

I am done worrying about this and listening to people who know less about football than I do.

I hope our team knows the right players to take.

Mr. Woodcock

Another perfect prospective draft pick for the Dolphins. Now this guy, this guy may just be the steal of the draft. He's the number 1 projected defensive back on the board and lord knows we need corners. And this is another bullshit sexual harassment complaint, not like he knocked over a liquor store which would really be a problem, nah, this is the same case as the Bill O'Reilly situation, another bimbo trying to get a payday just before draft day.

OK, BB, you're keeping tabs on my list, right? Now add Gareon? to my list of "deplorables."

At the rate that these guys are getting in trouble if my guys take my advice and go with Woodcock's picks we may just be looking at the next dynasty in sports.

You're writing all this down, right BB?

Mr. Woodcock

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/04/25/report-gareon-conley-accused-of-sexual-assault-in-cleveland/

Big Baby

I'll pass on a guy who can potentially serve mutiple jail terms. Give me the guys with the diluted samples though.

Big Baby

Might end up being nothing woodcock but too much of a risk before the draft.

Big Baby

not sure what these qb's are doing leaving that early woodcok Deshone Kizer is leaving two years early and he isn't even that good.

the shadow knows

Fzb,

calvin cook is great, but they already have jay ajayi and that #28 guy who shows some talent. don't the dolphins need a big slot receiver (read "tight end") and wouldn't david njoku be the guy? linemen are available, both OL and DL, all over the place and methinks that tannehill would be better served with a slot/tight end in his receiving corps? and rumor has it that he could block a little.

OC Dolphin

Are you reading that, BB?

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

i like the leaves the way they bare now- a really young team that showed grit against the capitals beyond their years/experience. looking for a big jump in their regular season position and a weaker opponent in round one ofd the cup playoffs.

the shadow knows

$1.3 BILLION FOR THE MARLINS?!?!

maddog, RIP, is rolling over in his grave as he was drastically opposed to public funding of the stadium that will be worth half the cost of the sale to jeb (YUK) bush and derek jeter. that amount is more than some NFL teams are worth and they get all that TV revenue from games on bizarre days and times!!!

the shadow knows

BARCELONA IS WORTH 1.3 BILLION!!!

how can the marlins be worth as much as a team with worldwide support and real revenue? UNREAL!!!!!

Mr. Woodcock

"I'll pass on a guy who can potentially serve mutiple jail terms. Give me the guys with the diluted samples though."

In for a dime in for a dollar, BB.

This is actually a much better fuck up because we're talking multiple draft rounds that this guy might drop. We may be able to pick up this jailbird with a sixth round pick. Now if Chuck Manson could play cornerback at a first round level and he could still play I'd risk spending a sixth or seventh round pick on that ass hole and keep him locked up in the Dade County jail when he's not at practice or during the games.

Mr. Woodcock

Listen Shadow, my family came from Barcelona. I was in Barcelona in 1971. I like Barcelona. But let me tell you something. Forget about the soccer team, the entire freaking city is not worth 1 billion let alone 1.3.

I got to Barcelona on a ferry that I took with 30 other Cubans like me from Genoa. We sailed through the night and landed in Spain after spending two fun filled weeks in Italy. By the time we got to the hotel guys were throwing up and shooting a 5 inch thick spray of shit out their assholes from the Barcelona version of Montezuma's revenge. There's no freaking way that in a city where you have to walk around drinking bottled water, skipping the ice on your highballs, walk with a cork shoved up your ass to prevent any accidents, that the metropolis let alone the city's soccer team can have a 1 billion dollar valuation.

Mr. Woodcock

That's OK, Shad, Geets is putting the entire purchase amount on the credit card that Obama used to finance his 8 year long spending spree. Hell, Obie told Geets to use the same Uncles Sam gold card that he used and to tell the guys at the treasury not to say a word to Trump about it.

Mr. Woodcock

What's happening is that most teams have dirt at the quarterback position. A symptom of the wide open pistol spread offenses that they've been using in college. So teams in the NFL are fucked at that position and they keep spending high draft picks hoping that they'll get lucky and get a kid who can play.

I didn't think that Kaaya had played himself into a position to be a 2nd round pick let alone a first.

Mr. Woodcock

You should see the kid from Cal that the Rams foolishly mortgaged the franchise to move up and take as the number 1 pick last year. He couldn't even beat out the two gigantic stiffs that the Rams had on the roster from the year before at quarterback. I saw him in person three times last year and he looked like a warmed up shit sandwich.

Mr. Woodcock

I'll tell you who is the real deal, though. And he would have been taken number 1 right now and the next guy taken after him is light years in talent below this guy, and that's the kid who plays quarterback for USC. He is unbelievable.

Mr. Woodcock

If I'm the Rams I'm laying down in 16 consecutive Sundays this year and I'm backing a Brinks armor truck at Heritage Hall right after the national championship game, yea, if the kid is vertical by the end of the season they're the odds on favorite to win it all this year. You heard it hear first. And I would dump 30 million on his lap right now.

That kid could come into camp this year in Boca Raton and beat out Tannehill after the first two weeks of camp. He's that good.

the shadow knows

Mr. Woodcock,

sam darn;d must be pretty darn good for you to praise one of the brain surgeons of USC. he was pretty remarkable for troy once he got past mad max, another in the long line of USC QBs who couldn't throw an out pattern to save themselves. leinart, sanchez, barkley,... all weak arms. can't believe matt barkley was on an NFL team last year. and not to forget cody kessler-another arena team player.

didn't know barcelona was spains answer to TJ!!!~

Big Baby

FZB I didn't mean to imply I knew more about football than others here (just dave). I was talking about the various so called media experts.

Mr. Woodcock

Shad, the kid's the real deal. I'll be shocked if they don't win the the Pac 12 this year and be high on the list for the playoffs.

Big Baby

Better than Tannehill woodcock? Let's maybe wait until after this season the list of USC failed QB's is a long one.

Big Baby

He did have a good season but then again so did Rodney Peete, Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez, Todd Marinovich and the others shadow mentioned. Made some nice throws in that last game.

Big Baby

Barcelona looks good in pictures maybe not I guess.

Big Baby

shadow before you defend Rodney Peete he was a very marginal NFL QB.

Big Baby

Sanchez at least went to two AFC Championship games before the wheels fell off. Granted it was a good team he was playing for.

Mr. Woodcock

It's looking more and more like taco Charlton boys. Day it ain't so.

Mr. Woodcock

I've been watching USC football since 1963 and he's their best qb that I've seen.

Wait until he finishes this season the hype will be off the charts. Can you say heisman?

OC Dolphin

The NFL draft is being held in Philadelphia. First time since 1962. 1962!!!??? Heck, even Rocky Balboa was not born then.

Jimbo

And in the 5th round the Miami Dolphins select Cecil Collins RB....

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

very unfair to even think i would "defend" rodney peete's NFL career. he was, however, an excellent college QB who i think finished ahead of troy aikman and behind barry sanders for the trophy. it was a wild scenario in 1988- airman was leading peete until SC beat the bruins, at which point peete was onto until ND beat USC and barry sanders rose to the top. i have been bashing USC QBs on the blog for years, but there is nothing to say about sam arnold's downside-a true leader as a freshman, and quite a capable player. hey, even woodcock likes this trojan. and i don't consider heisman talk until after the 6th or 7th game. penn state"s runner was also amazing in the rose bowl and should be in the picture when the images start appearing in late october.

the shadow knows

19/19 FROM THE LINE!!!!

for my guy kasha leonard last night; ironic that he missed the free throw against the heat that would have locked up the title for SA the year before they did throttle the heat. the guy has improved every year he has been in the NBA.

Mr. Woodcock

"All things considered I'd rather be in Philadelphia."

W.C. Fields

Mr. Woodcock

That's funny, Jimbo.

Is The Diesel;

A: Dead

B: Serving time at Raifort

c: All of the above

Mr. Woodcock

"and quite a capable player."

Shad, here you're either being modest or making the understatement of the year. This is kid is far, far beyond "quite capable." If he started every game last year SC would have been in the playoffs.

The Rose Bowl performance was simply one for the ages. A huge primetime performance in one of the greatest games and venues in American sports history and the kid lit up the scoreboard like New Year's eve at Time Square.

No, this kid has all the makings of a superstar at the college and the pro level.

Big Baby

With the 9th pick in the draft the Miami Dolphins select..Ted Ginn and his family.

Fzb3346

and how are you kids doing today?..everyone good?

ok everyone pay attention now, come tomorrow night this is how the shit is going down in the draft..

the Dolphins pick at 22 ( if they don't find a trading partner to move back ) will be from this group.

DE Charles Harris, DE Derek Barnett, CB Tre'Davious White, LB Jarrad Davis & LB Haason Reddick.

I don't think Reuben Foster or Njoku will be there and they may actually pass on Forrest Lamp at 22....which will piss me off but I'll understand.

now..IF I had to pick from that group?..here's my order.

Derek Barnett
Hasson Reddick
Charles Harris
Tre'Davious White
Jarrad Davis

that's what my Chrystal ball says.

Fzb3346

IF by a miracle Foster is there then you get him..but I still think Lamp would look pretty good in that LG slot next to Tunsil.

Big Baby

Jim Rome says cancel the nba playoffs Golden State is winning it. Can't say I disagree. Didn't we know this last year when Durant signed there? Not a lot of intrigue in that league anymore.

Fzb3346

BTW..have you guys seen what's going on over at ESPN?..they are firing on air personalities left and right..holy shit.

Big Baby

Writing was on the wall. Cable tv revenue just isn't there anymore.

Big Baby

Funny how Ted Ginn ended up having a pretty good career after leaving Miami. Besides for a few nice kick return td's he played soft and had the dropssies in Miami.

Mr. Woodcock

Sports in America like we've known it is a dying thing. The pussification and metrosexualing of American boys is now to the point where sports for these millennials consists of sitting in front of a computer screen shooting aliens while they talk to their friends who live all over the world but they have never met. TV? What's that. Exercise and fresh air? What's that. Sports on TV or better yet leaving the house to attend? What are you crazy. Don't you know that Space Aliens 1000 is debuting all over the world today at 5:00 PM?

Nah, when we geezers check out so will sports viewing in America.

Bye bye ESPN it was nice knowing ya.

In a way it will be poetic justice that someone like FZB's and OC's kids spend a lifetime working their ass off to become a doctor and some idiot who can't spell CAT if you spotted him all three letters will be paid 20 million tomorrow to run around in tights for 5 years or less.

Big Baby

Much of what you say is true woodcock but people are also ditching cable and can get highlights almost anywhere now. A bad recipe for a revenue driven network. I am a geezer and still watch but also look to other sources at times.

Fzb3346

very true Wood's..very true.

I hardly watch ESPN during non football season...

Mr. Woodcock

OC, is the perfect example of generational obsolescence which is what's really affecting ESPN. Yesterday he told Shad that he was reading a book. Let's stop right there. From that sentence you get a mental image of OC sitting down on his easy chair wearing a light blue Fred MacMurray style argyle sweater with his feet up on the coffee table reading away turning pages by the light of a cheap plastic imitation of an Eaves designed very austere looking one light bulb orange colored pedestal lamp that he picked up on sale at an artsy farty shop in Bumfuck. You got that image down, BB? Now let's move forward to what the kids are doing if they want to "read" that book.

Junior, logs in at his desk and immediately starts blasting aliens while he sips on a diet Starbucks double soy latte, and then in an instant he hits the "Books On Tape" app on his computer and the melodious sounding voice of Chuck Mellow continues to read "Finding Jesus" to Junior right where he left off the night before as Junior continues to rack up aliens at lightning speed.

"Take that Zorgov! No, no, not you Jesus. Please continue Mr. Mellow."

Oh boy.

Big Baby

True woodcock I have a 14 y/o who watches sports with me often but not as much as I did at his age.

Fzb3346

A Fred MacMurray shirt?..hehe, boy, that's some shit right there, I would't even come out in public in one of those.....no bueno look for sure.

Mr. Woodcock

Starched! The sweater is starched, FZ. He he.

OC Dolphin

I don't know about starch, but the sweater has to have buttons and two front pockets. Preferably oatmealcolorrd ir black.

Big Baby

the shadow knows

Mr. Woodcock,

the ole shadow tries to be understated than into hyperbole. know that he played an awesome game against penn state and that USC finished on a tremendous roll with darnold at the helm, but let's see how USC fares with him at the controls from the outset of the season, will check the trojan schedule shortly
