GOALLLLLL!!!

man city has just tied the match, but still need a couple of more scores as monaco has two away goals should the aggregate end up even steven.

the shadow knows

MONACO SCORES AGAIN!!!!!!

3-2 as the man city keeper left his line to watch a lob go over his head off the foot of the very good falcao. as stated, a great match. now monaco has 3 away goals, a tremendous total against a fine man city squad. as previously mentioned, a bad call against man city turned things around.

PING PONG?

OC Dolphin

Hahahaha..."Archival, get that man out of this house."

Jimbo

OC, you should be able to golf 10 months out of the year in Texas.

Jimbo

shadow.
reference back to the last topic page concerning TE's. Former basketball power forwards converting to TE & DE. U posed a legitimate point.

OC Dolphin

Jimbo, I get both Ca and Fl weather forecast on my iPhone. Whenever I check it here in Austin I sometimes check out the other two locations and if it's 70 in Fl it's generally 60 in LA and 50 in Austin. During the summer it's generally nice in Ca, hot in Fl and unbearable in Austin. Nothing beats the west coast, unless you're in Palm Springs!

OC Dolphin

Wow, Jeanie Buss dropped the hammer. Kupchak Is out as is brother Jim. Magic to hire a new GM.

OC Dolphin

Mitch was GM for 17 years and in the organization for 30!

Jimbo

OC,
perfect weather depends on what you want to do. You could say that in both North Carolina and California you could either snow ski or swim in the ocean during the summer. Colorado was perfect for me, not for my wife.

Fzb3346

New post !

Hey if you guys are bored , here are a couple of suggestions.

an afternoon with the missus at the mall...

I also sort of lose my man card and watch HGTV with her...but I draw the line on chick flicks.

Do projects together, yeah I know.

Take walks or ride a bike..

There, hope this helps.

Fzb3346

Congrats OC..it looks like the bartender and his croonies are out but are the Lakers better off with Magic?.. I mean the guy has never been a GM before.

This could be anothe disaster like Phil in NY

Hope I'm wrong

Mr. Woodcock

Julius Thomas. Miami meet your new start I g te. Gase gets the guy he had in Denver. For a 7th pick. You gotta like this trade.

Jimbo

OC
Here's a new hobby to take up:

Jimbo

amazing. been raining here for 20 hours straight.

Jimbo

Jags have released DT Jared Odrick. Jared was a former Dolphins 1st round draft pick and had a few productive seasons with them. Odrick is an athletic DT who can play inside or outside at DE. Odrick is a solid player with a solid reputation in the locker room.

Do you bring him in for a possible signing?

Jimbo says - If he's healthy and still productive yes. He will not be expensive.

Jimbo

FZB,
You know why cavemen used to drag their women by the hair and not the ankles?
So they wouldn't fill up with dirt.

Jimbo

Gonna head to DC when cherry blossoms are in bloom. Wife has never been there. A lot to see. Have an Uncle in SCarolina who's alone & in his mid 90's. Spend a little time with him too. Dude is so sharp mentally. I can talk with him for hours about old family, coal mining, steel mils, WW2, politics, stock market, investing, etc. Maybe stop at a Civil War site or two also. Jimbo loves him some history.

Mr. Woodcock

Oye OC, I don't know if you can see this video that someone posted on facebook but check out these guys. They make the Olympic gymnastics team look like a bunch of pansy ass saps.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trumps-new-national-security-adviser-a-soldier-who-can-say-no-sir/2017/02/21/0c05e696-f85e-11e6-be05-1a3817ac21a5_story.html?utm_term=.05ee96641465

Mr. Woodcock

Nope. Didn't work. You should see these guys doing flips over walls and roofs and sticking landings ten feet below them on top of another wall. Not photoshoped. This is insane.

the shadow knows

Jimbo,

those feral hogs- aren't they boars-are incredibly dangerous when they attack humans. hunting them is no day on the lake!! 3.5 million!! one for every 10 people in texas. there is a great boar hunting scene in "lives of a bengal lancer" in which the colonel tells his boy "don't ever get off your horse" during the boar sticking scene. well, you know what junior does... OUCH!!!!!!

the shadow knows

HARRISON FORD NEARLY TAKES OUT 737!!

close call! could never understand why small private planes are allowed to fly near commercial airports. used to live between hawthorne's airport and LAX and was amazed that there was no accident of this type. i do remember the horrible sunday when a private plane crashed into a mexicana jet close to anaheim stadium. needless to say no survivors, but a few yards away they could have plummeted into a sunday afternoon angel game at the then big A. harrison ford was probably looped out of his mind and at his age they ought to take his piloting license away. the guy also flies helicopters!! citizens, don't ever get in those machines-they fall from the sky at an amazing rate and if that little propellor at the tail goes out it is curtains. anyone remember "l.a. airways"? 2 crashes within weeks of each other and that helicopter company went the way of-this is for you Señor Woodcock- kelsey's nutmeg.

Mr. Woodcock

Never heard that one before. "Kelsey's nutmeg." OK. What's the story behind that one?

Fzb3346

what's going on people.

Shadow...I saw that video of senile Harrison Ford landing in the wrong strip and almost causing a catastrophe, they say he may lose his license for this, I say is ok by me, that guy is 74.

Mr. Woodcock

And in other news. Magic Johnson is considering naming Arsenio Hall as the assistant general manager......

Mr. Woodcock

Oye OC, do you have the fancy popcorn, the champagne on ice, and your ballots filled for Oscar night? What time do you start to watch? Do you begin with the pre-pre super gala Oscar preview show the night before or do you start on Sunday early for the tooty fruity red carpet fashion show.

"Oh my, look at that Dior gown on whats her name, babe!"

LMFAO

Fzb3346

I also agree on the Dolphins bringing back Odrick, the guy can play plus we need help up front.

let's just say..that the Dolphins sign Stills to a contract and both Landry and Parker both have monster years next year, what do you do?...sign BOTH Landry AND Parker to long term deals too?

Fzb3346

my point is one of them may have to be let go...but which one?

Stills ?...Landry ? or Parker ?

Mr. Woodcock

Oye tu, let's just worry about this year. No one has mentioned the Thomas trade. Thoughts?

Fzb3346

LOVED the Thomas trade, it will allow Tunsil to go back to his best position and be what Jake Long was supposed to be, a 10 yr pro bowler.

Albert is a good player but 32 yrs old and injury prone, Tannanbaum, Grier and Gase have their shit together...we won that trade.

Mr. Woodcock

Bicho, all we gave up for Thomas was a 7th round pick. They still have Albert on the roster.

Fzb3346

Albert is going to get traded to the Jag's for a 2018 7th rounder, it will be announced on 3-9-17 ?..I think.

Albert won't be back.

Fzb3346

the Lakers have hired a sports agent as their GM, boy I hope OC doesn't find out about this.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources-with-magic-johnson-in-power-lakers-eyeing-agent-rob-pelinka-to-become-gm-204625211.html

the shadow knows

Señor Woodcock,

gone the way of kelsey's nutmeg was a jim healy staple to describe something that had disappeared or was a old. geez, i miss his drive time show.after work used to light up and drive home "like a man"!!

the shadow knows

Señor Woodcock,

the phrase is "deader than kelsey's nutmeg" and he used it a bunch.

Jimbo

Maybe you can answer this. Why does NFL trading start March 9th and Miami-Jax can announce a trade early? Why not follow through with the reported Albert trade now?

Fzb3346

Jimbo...I think they can announce trades now but they won't be official until the NFL's league year starts, I think they are setting up the cap figures etc.

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article134197644.html

OC Dolphin

The Dolphins are going to issue contracts to Dan Marino, Bob Griese, Nat Moore, Larry Little, Kim Bokamper and Sam Madison. Ceremonial, so they can "officially" retire as Dolphins.

What the heck did they retire when they retired some 45 years ago? Jets?!

Mr. Woodcock

Geez Shad, you got me there buddy. I don't remember Healy ever uttering that phrase.

Mr. Woodcock

You know we're going to get compensatory pics for Miller and Olivier. Both had great years so the picks should be pretty high maybe in the 2nd or 3rd round. Right now they don't have but 4 draft picks. With tight end being taken care of the first two picks have to be Oline, no? There's talk about free agency for corner. They're looking for a big name at corner.

Mr. Woodcock

This is the time of year where Trust Fund's knowledge of the cap and what have you came in handy just before the draft.

Yoo hoo, Trust Fund!

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

another ploy to fill the seats at a lousy home game. at least sam madison played for another team before he "then" retired. i can't recall any of the rest of them playing elsewhere, even though marino wanted a trade to the vikings when he and jimmy johnson were in different universes.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

griese, little, moore and bokamper all played their last NFL game with the dolphins. what a sham!!!

Jimbo

RIP Alan Colmes. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/fox-news%E2%80%99-alan-colmes-dies-at-66-after-%E2%80%98brief-illness%E2%80%99/ar-AAngf8Q?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhp

Jimbo

FZB
OK. Thanks. That leads to another question. Does this appear to be tampering with a player under contract with another team?

Fzb3346

Jimbo..No I don't think so, it would have been all over already, I don't think the Albert deal is annoince yet is because they are re working the guy's contract.

hey check this out..good news on Tannehill.

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article134484399.html

Mr. Woodcock

Wow, that's great news bro.

Oye, I hear that the Canes are close to signing a 5 star running back. Have you heard anything about this?

Fzb3346

Wood's...the Canes have commitments from two stud HS RB's for next years class, Mark Richt is going to build a heck of a team down here, the guy is a winner.

to all Beisbol fans out there, so MLB changed the rule on intentional walks, now with just a sign from the opposing manager the guy gets to the base, first the stupid DH and now this?..come on man.

Jimbo

OC,
Griese indicated that they were officially free agents. Sam Madison might be able to find a spot on the current 53 man roster. Still better than Bobby McCain.

Jimbo

FZB, Guess the automatic intentional walk is to speed up the game. ? Instead of watching the 4 wide outside pitches and a possibility of a wild pitch.

Jimbo

BB & david must be a man retreat. Both disappeared at the same time.

OC Dolphin

They both went to aTrump rally.

(the real) david in los angeles

not quite.. lol

always reading.. not always commenting.

unlike BB, i only comment when i have something to say worth saying.. :)

Jimbo

response was quick... lol

hope you're doing well david

Jimbo

I feel for Teddy Bridgewater. Full of promise to not sure if you'll ever play the game again.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/vikings-gm-provides-rare-update-on-qb-teddy-bridgewaters-recovery/ar-AAngNtd?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp

Mr. Woodcock

Agreed. If you're going to intentionally walk them why waste the time and four pitches. Hell, when Nolan Ryan needed to walk a guy he just beaned him with the first pitch. It's a lot better than this silly rule.

(the real) david in los angeles

busy with music, and life.
just got a call for an opportunity that would be a definite game changer.

i will let you guys know when i can.

teddy is a good dude.
best friend in miami was the librarian at olinda elementary in liberty city for years until a couple years ago.

he was a student of hers and she told me she loved him; great kid, parents very involved, attended every parent teacher day, and they were hands on in making sure he was doing what he's supposed to.

Mr. Woodcock

Oye, I just picked up two Adams rescue clubs from Rock Bottom Golf. Rock bottom, yup that's right up my alley. For $30 a piece! Brand spanking new with the plastic wrap around the heads. Brand new. Smooth as silk and SEE YA!

You can't even get a decent blow job on Manchester Boulevard at a Chink massage parlor for that kind of dough.

(the real) david in los angeles

oc, you'll love this one.

apparently the celtics made quite a serious play for paul george, but he's hell bent on joining the lakers in 2018 when his contract is up, so no deal with boston could be made.

Mr. Woodcock

Actually I got the real scoop on George. His first cousin is a good friend of mine. He's actually not sure if he wants to come back home. He likes it in Indi, been there a long time, and kinda likes being a big fish in a little pond. My friend Evelyn is real close to him and I just happen to run into her today and she told me this. I was disappointed. I still think we have a shot of getting him next year as a free agent. Trading anything for him this year would have been an idiotic move by the Lakers.

Mr. Woodcock

He'd look good in Forum blue eh!

the shadow knows

Jimbo,

a shame if teddy bridgewater is finished. stepped right in and made the vikings a serious offensive team. too bad UM didn't get him and instead had jacorry harris. teddy destroyed them in the bowl game. it would be a real tragedy if this great young talent and solid citizen has thrown his last NFL pass.

the shadow knows

Jimbo.

hannity and comes was a great show. i believe that alan comes showed to be a little sharper than sean hannity in the exchanges, maybe because my politics lean more to comes than hannity.

Big Baby

Eliminating the intentional walk is an absurd suggestion. Been an important part of the strategy portion of the game for a long time. Can't imagine the Union agrees to it.

Nice pickup woodcock I remember Tom Watson pitching those Adam's clubs years ago.

Teddy Bridgewater and the Vikings offense was very low rated they made the playoffs with defense. Probably not a guy you could ever win a Superbowl with due to his lack of arm strength but hope he recovers.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

i disagree strongly- if russell wilson can get to the Super Bowl, teddy bridgewater could. accurate arm and good football sense, was great for louisville and for the vikings.

Fzb3346

I feel real bad for Teddy Bridgewater, such promise..local kid from Miami...

the shadow knows

WATCHING UCLA...

lonzo ball is a good player, but his shot is screwed - shoulder level and shoots across his body. in the NBA he will have a very blockable shot. he may be a great passer and have court sense, but if he doesn't work on changing his shot, he will have a tough time shooting over NBA sized defenders. if he goes to the NBA after this season, based on what the ole shadow has seen, he will have real difficulty shooting in the NBA.

Big Baby

Russell Wilson is a much, much better qb than Bridgewater. When Wilson became a pocket passer he went right to the top of the list.

I was just going by stats on Bridgewater their offense was not good with him in there. Maybe he needs more weapons.

the shadow knows

Big baby,

teddy bridgwater's final season at louisville:
31 TDs, 4 ints-an insane ratio. sat for half his rookie season in minnesota and then in season #2 led the vikings to an 11-5 record and a spot in the playoffs, where if i remember seattle beat them. will check out russell wilson's dual college stats.

Big Baby

Wilson has a great arm can't say he is overrated because he is already a star.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

russell wilson had dynamic stats at both nc state and wisconsin, where he had 33 TDs and 4 INTs as a senior.

Big Baby

I hope Bridgewater gets another chance to play. Vikings now have a decision to make on Bradford.

When I watch Bridgewater his throwing motion looks a bit long. Looks like he is throwing from his heels I guess it worked for him but it looks a little awkward.

Big Baby

No surgery needed for Tannehill good news.

Jimbo

BB, QB arm strength. I disagree. Other than the team around you the most important part of a QB is his brain.

The West Coast style of offense was created for weaker armed QB. Actually in Cinci by Walsh. 49'ers won 4 Super Bowls with weak armed Joe Montana.

Bob Griese had a weak arm by NFL standards. Look at the film. If he threw deep to Warfield or Moore it forever and a day to get there.

Fzb3346

QB's arm strength is over rated on my book too, I rather have a leader with a touch of smarts any day, shit the Vikings won back in the day with Joe Kapp in charge.

of course he had Chuck Foreman ( a Cane ) running the rock and the purple people eating defense, now that was a D..

Mr. Woodcock

Disagree. The time to change his shot would have been in elementary school. Obviously by now he has a shot that seems to be working or he wouldn't be one of the best players in college.

I know what you're saying about his shot and you're correct that it's not the way they would teach it but sometimes you gotta dance with them that brought you especially if things are working out real well at the dance.

Mr. Woodcock

I guess we do have two rb comits for 2018 who are a 5 and a 4 star recruits. That certainly is not only going to help the roster but it's going to help us recruit other top talent. I like the way things are moving at the U.

Fzb3346

Oye Bro..relajate, the Canes will be loaded in a couple of yrs, Richt is concentrating in the O Line and the D Line, he wants to steamroll everyone..can't wait.

Mr. Woodcock

You think it's a coincidence that the program is back on the right track almost as soon as the Cunt of Monte Cristo drove off the lot?

Put that in your pipe and smoke it Trust Fund.

Fzb3346

No, Shalala neglected the football program big time but we are back on track now .

I miss Kazimiro, I think he's in jail for killing one of those Groove birds.

Fzb3346

oooppss !!!

GROVE BIRDS..yeah

Fzb3346

Shadow, this is for you buddy..

http://www.espnfc.com/barcelona/story/3067973/barcelona-to-tour-united-states-this-summer-sources

Barcelona and Real Madrid are going to play in Miami this summer.

the shadow knows

Mr. Woodcock,

lonzo ball may be a great point guard in the passing and creating chances for teammates, but it says here he will have a difficult time shooting in the pros. meanwhile he ain't in the NBA get- let's see how he fares tomorrow night against arizona and in the tournaments. have not seen much of him, but there are enough writers and mavens out there who are concerned about his shooting. to be fair, i read about his quite unorthodox style before i saw him play last night, and i didn't see him take many shots. for as much as bill walton the player was my all-time favorite, he can't shut up with the mike in front of his face. it sounded like the was wired on something last night, but it was fun hearing him drop the names of players from my youth- jumping' joe caldwell, alton lister and many more. i was surprised when he noted that ASU hadn't made a substitution and wondered if a team had gone a whole game using just five players. if not mistaken, ray meyer's first depaul team played quite a few games with just five players, including games in the tournament, and one where they knocked off david greenwood and roy hamilton in albequerque. will check

Big Baby

You can't win with a weak armed qb anymore in a passing league.

the shadow knows

Mr. Woodcock,

can't track down the depaul team that only used five players in the tournament. i do remember that one of the five was a 27 year-old format postal service employee.

the shadow knows

GETTING OLD...

i found the 1979 NCAA regional final where depaul had 4 players play 40 minutes, one play 38 minutes and two guys with a minute apiece. i guess that is pretty darn close to playing with just 5 guys. they beat the bruins 95-91 and the next morning, early next morning, i saw david greenwood and roy hamilton at tower records on sunset, looking not too sad about having been eliminated from the tournament.

Mr. Woodcock

We got whale fucked boys. Read em and weep.

One pick late in the third round and two late picks in the fifth.

Oh well, that's what the NFL thinks of free agent signings even if they make the pro bowl playing for their new team. Hose city. Miller and Vernon both made the pro bowl.

Mr. Woodcock

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000787767/article/nfl-awards-compensatory-draft-picks-to-16-clubs

Mr. Woodcock

Well at least we have 7 picks now and we do have a 1, 2, 3, and now two in the 5th round. I don't know where the other 2 picks are I guess we have a 7th rounder left and another pick that I don't know what round it's in.

Fzb3346

this is what we have

a 1st, 2nd , 3rd , three 5's , a 6th...

no 4th or 7th rounds.

7 picks total

Mr. Woodcock

It's actually pretty good. We should be able to find 2 or 3 starters with those picks and certainly have everyone above the 6th round make the team. Sounds good.

OC Dolphin

Cut and paste: The third-rounder was the best comp pick the league gives out: 97th overall. That was presumably for Vernon, who had an excellent first season for the Giants after signing a five-year, $85 million deal with New York.

OC Dolphin

The Dolphins also gained the 180th and 186th overall picks, which were likely for losing Miller to the Texans and Matthews to the Titans.

OC Dolphin

The NFL prevented teams from trading compensatory picks until now, so Tannenbaum can do with them what he wants in package deals.

OC Dolphin

Need (2) guards, (2) LBs, (1 each) DE, corner, as new starters. Depth at tackle and the OL.

OC Dolphin

Heck, didn't they just sign: Larry Little, Kim Bokamper and Sam Madison?

Put them to work!

Big Baby

Kazaam would be proud of those comp picks he was often talking about the value they can bring. Change of philosophy for Tannenbaum in some ways good to see.

Big Baby

Dave wanted us to break the bank for Vernon and Miller. Probably good we didn't although if Vernon keeps it up it could be a second guess at some point.
