bout time OC..WTF bro, hey when did you get back from your honeymoon with Kaz?..eh?

Big Baby

I miss Kazaam and him telling us illegal immigration doesn't have a financial cost to the US.

Big Baby

No worries Landry's agent says he was quoting a Drake song not pining for a new contract. Not believing that one but they have to make sure they keep him there for a long time and shouldn't wait.

OC you could own a golf course and still not be on an ex- Presidential pace.

What's up with that Laker loss the other night ;)

OC Dolphin

BB, I'm all for more Laker loses. If they finish with a record that gives them an excellent chance at being 1-3 would be grand. If they pick 4th or above, sayonara draft pick!

the shadow knows

OC<

thanks for the new thread!! i guess this one will last through SB LI!!! hope all is well and the falcons stay in the game, which many of the talking heads won't happen. it is truly amazing how NE wins with unheard of players-that is until they get to foxboro.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

you are correct about joe theisman and the single bar. too bad he was/is such a schmuck, because he was a really excellent football player. as mentioned previously a whole bunch (by me), the greatest passing display the ole shadow can remember was the 1970 ND/USC game, where the un defeated irish came into the coliseum and theism threw for 510 yards in a monsoon. also memorable was the 68 game, where he came off the bench to garner a tie with SC as an unknown 3rd stringer and caught a TD pass in the game featured on the cover of SI as "the day they stopped OJ".

the shadow knows

OC,

too bad they aren't playing in their original unis- the hiking patriot on the helmet was my favorite logo.

Fzb3346

I'm depress as hell, I think the fucking Patriots are going to win another SB... I can't stand it

Big Baby

That would totally suck but at least you live far away. You have no idea what it would be like for me living here dealing with that.

OC Dolphin

Hey Woods,

Did you see that Tiger dropped his association with Nike? Did not matter much when he was younger and could use less-than equipment and not suffer for it.

Technologically speaking, the longest 3Wood/drivers out there right now are made by Taylormade. Both Jason Day and Dustin Johnson use them, and Their competition can I'll afford playing with shorter equipment.

OC Dolphin

He's going to have to adapt to the irons, however.

the shadow knows

BUTCH TRUCKS,RIP...

thank the heavens that his son derek is making music with his wife and bandmates. they are great musicians, pick terrific material, and put on a great show.

Big Baby

A rock legend shadow helped form possibly the greatest Southern rock band of all time. At least the most ground breaking one by far. Saw them in concert once late in the game but it was still a great show.

OC Dolphin

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqa1s4jhkQ8

OC Dolphin

Ahh, that was nice.

Mr. Woodcock

It's actually the other way around. Nike decided to get out of the golf equipment business except for apparel. Makes sense since they are a clothing manufacturer that got into the equipment business to get tigers advertising potential. It's funny because he replaced Jordan and Mike never had to get into the making basketballs business. Has he said what equipment he's going to use? I think he will still wear the swoosh.

Mr. Woodcock

I think that may be the only band show that I've gone to with of. We saw the Allman bro. A long time ago.

OC Dolphin

Have you hit the TaylorMade 3Wood yet? That thing is the bomb! that thing could bag drivers!

OC Dolphin

The point I'm making is that when one break out and into the big leagues with massive talent, one can afford playing with substandard equipment. Nike was never a true top shelf club manufacturer. Not in the same league as Titleist, Ping, Mizuno, TaylorMade. Basically a hyped up Wilson.

Al Gore sees it 20-20. An inconvenient truth that Tiger dropped clubs that were never leading edge because his talent was more than enough to overcome. Now that he's a mere mortal he needs the best, which just happens to be what the top golfers play.

OC Dolphin

Hey, maybe he will just get all nostalgic and play tribute to the best golfer in history (Jack) by playing persimmons.

OC Dolphin

Sergio Garcia: Eh...quien es Jack? No entiendo.

OC Dolphin

Jimbo,

Man, can you believe how much snow has hit the west coast?

In my 35 years of living there I was talking to Woodcock, and I think we only saw 20' of snow one time during that period.

OC Dolphin

But for perhaps shadow, most of you haven't got up to an age where falling on something like hard ice or packed snow would be enough to make recovery a serious concern. Possibly near impossible to overcome.

Woods, OC and shadow. Well...FZB is in that age grouping too, but he's a Smurf, and Smurfs are pliable.

OC Dolphin

Gotten up...

Mr. Woodcock

Oh man, el OC on a 3 Coppola night. LOL

Mr. Woodcock

It's good to see you come in and represent OC. Especially cuando estas lit up like a Christmas tree.

AAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAHHHHHAAAAA.

Big Baby

OC I think Sergio knows who Jack is.

Big Baby

Tell you what though your (our) president seems to be doing some mighty fine governing.

Mr. Woodcock

Fzb3346

the Trumpster seems to be going at warp speed, keeping the promises he made to the American people, Obi-Care , the wall, cutting funds to santuary cities, etc...of course the Dems are going nuts about it..hehe

IF I was him, I would pass a law through congress for a national registry to vote, U get your card U vote, U don't have a voting card??. U are out of luck..I suspect there's a lot of funny business going on in California..shit U can get fake ID's there for $300.00..

OC Dolphin

Man-o-man, Farmers Insurance Open on The Golf Channel. La Jolla looks beautiful. Boy do I miss that place.

OC Dolphin

Jason Day outdriving Tiger by 30 yards, and Dustin Johnson in front of Tiger by 50.

Big Baby

I didn't know Kiko was a restricted free agent they might have to sign him this offseason.

Big Baby

If a team was willing to give up a second for him big price but wouldn't surprise me if a team made an offer.

Fzb3346

the Dolphins need to keep kiko but move him to weak side LB and get a bigger run stuffing MLB.

Big Baby

keep kiko add two additional starting lb's. Unless they think they can get away with starting hewitt and adding one. Paysinger makes the roster on special teams and could add depth with maybe hull.

Big Baby

we are assuming misi and jenkins butler are long goners.

Mr. Woodcock

Yup, I just came back from the range. I'm hitting them just like my sex life, OC, long, deep, and straight.

He he.

Did Trump order a Blue Angel flyover to start the round?

Jimbo

OC, Lots of skiing potential on the west coast. PA mountains didn't have jack squat over Christmas. No slopes for me this year. When I lived in Colorado, I did a lot more skiing after New Years than before. Sometimes being able to ski without a coat in March.

Jimbo

Agent Orange takes over the White House.

Jimbo

I really doubt anyone would part with a second round draft pick AND pay a big contract for Alonso.

OC Dolphin

I hear ya, Jimbo. Taking the plunge into the Fla. panhandle sort of makes it hard to partake in Colorado's cold/warm offerings. No...Floridian retirerees are best served by accepting and adopting: boating, a marine lifestyle, golf or battling boredom by part-timing it at any of those Orlando attractions.

Knowing you you'll be happiest after exploring and participating in the local triathelon events.

Jimbo

Been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. Bought a new construction. The notion is "you don't need to do anything". BS Misconception. Tree guys are coming next week to extract 15 pines from the property. Tile & grout are sealed (my aching knees), blinds are up, garage is sealed in Battleship Gray. Moved entire household contents in Monday. Security system, wifi, cable installed yesterday. I'm having fun with the security system, playing tricks on the wife.

Jimbo

Correction on yesterday's Alonso comment. I was assuming BB meant a straight up trade for Alonso. Kiko is a restricted free agent. If someone signs him away from Miami, the Dolphins would receive a compensation pick in return.

Fzb3346

good stuff on the Dolphins.

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article129074059.html

Mr. Woodcock

They'll keep Alonso. Not only did he play well this year but his dad is Cuban. Nuff said.

Mr. Woodcock

Dave, thanks for the info on the show tonight. I can't make it but I'll pass the info to some of my friends who live in HB. I wish I'd known sooner because I'm going to be in Irvine Saturday to see Walfredo's band.

And since we're talking about music here's my favorite Bowie song. The saxophone playing on this song may be my favorite. You don't hear these many different saxophones on one rock song.

SICK OF...

lebrun james' whining. for as good as he is a basketball player, to ask the owner to shell out more bucks thanks he already has and pay more in luxury taxes is absurd. don't they have enough good players, players who won the trophy last year in a tremendous comeback. the fact the guy wants to play surrounded by fellow uber talents is petty. don't put me down on the list of those who like his antics.

OC Dolphin

Second that, shadow.

OC Dolphin

Braved the elements early this morning and forced myself to walk 18 holes in 39* temperature. The conditions and multiple layers of clothing required me to dial-down my swing, resulting with an overall better scoring game. Best shot of the day had to be the wedge from 40 yards up and in on #4. Sweet!

the shadow knows

LEBRON JAMES" DREAM TEAM:

lebron james
kawhi leonard
anthony davis or towns
russell westbrook
stephon curry

left the fantastic kyrie irving off because he is already one of the whiner's teammates.
will he settle for anything else? back again tomorrow night. wishing all a great weekend!!

Mr. Woodcock

If you take LeBron James off the Cleveland roster they're a lottery team. The only thing that he didn't do last year to win a championship was park cars during the game. You tell me what other player won a championship with the stiffs that he had on the team?

Dellavedova? That guy couldn't even get a part as a midget in the next remake of the Wizard of Oz.

Mr. Woodcock

I'm a huge LeBron fan. Have been since he came into the league. The guy gets grief for the usual reason, envy and jealousy, both of which are some of the worst characteristics that anyone can have.

Mr. Woodcock

I never understood the animosity when he went to Miami. My mother used to tell me all the time, "mi hijo I don't understand why they say such bad things about that man all he does is play hard, play great, be a good teammate, and a good citizen."

"You're right mom."

I rest my case.

OC Dolphin

Few dismiss his talent, even overall "good guy" persona. Did wonders for Miami and Cleveland twice over. That's not what earns him isolated animus. He's merely a bi-product of his time and place...a guy owning up to socio-political pressures to voice opinions concerning domestic order. NBA fan base order, that is.

Problem is that "personalities" like him and others (see Gregg Popovich, Steve Kerr) have yet to recognize that their views exist outside mainstream America. They falsely, comfortably continue to think that the entire country believe as they do. Elitist mindset that proclaims THEY know best or deserve the best due their self absorbed importance.

OC Dolphin

Did you know you can save15 percent or more on car insurance with GEICO?

Jimbo

yes OC and the Trump train keeps chugging along.

Jimbo

ever ski? check out this lucky guy:

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/good-news/skier-goes-off-150-foot-cliff-survives-without-a-scratch-it-was-definitely-a-miracle/ar-AAmhPrd?li=AAk6ORB&ocid=spartanntp

Jimbo

how about this?
Albert, Tunsil, Pouncey, Incognito, James for the starting o line?

Changes are coming for Ajayi's blocking group.

With the need to infuse talent on the D side of the ball, what is in store for the O line?

If Albert is released whether it is to cut ties with him or get cute & hope to resign at a bargain price beware. Albert would be the top tackle AND top left tackle in free agency. He will get paid. GM Grier has dropped hints (Omar Kelly) that they are confident they can restructure & keep Albert.

IMO- Miami shut down Pouncey early so they can have a better picture if he's done physically before free agency & draft. Albert move to right guard or right tackle ( Move James to guard), Tunsil to left tackle. Draft a top guard in rd 2.

Entire draft (minus rd 2 for guard) is dedicated to the defense. LB, DE, DT, DB.

Restructure Landry & Jones now. Resign by priority: Branch, Sims, Alonso, Stills (not overpay), Bushrod (backup not starter), Paysinger.

OC Dolphin

The way it stands as of right now, the Dolphins have but five picks: 22 overall, the 22nd pick in the second, fifth, six and seventh round. They traded away their third and fourth away last year to improve last year's picks.

They will almost certainly be awarded compensatory picks, possibly coming at the end of the third and fifth round for losing more key players in free agency than gaining.

We'll just have to wait until March to see how generous the league is concerning the Dolphins.

Mr. Woodcock

Ahahahahahaha. All he said is he wants that son of a bitch owner who throws money around like manhole covers to spend some dough like the Warriors did so that he doesn't have to carry the entire team and the team bus through the playoffs and you turn this into a political issue. That's hilarious.

LMFAO

Mr. Woodcock

Supply and demand, OC. The value of a thing is the price it will bring.

Even though value judgements can rank professions in their ultimate value to our society at the end of the day monetary value is driven by economic principles. For every LeBron James there are millions of teachers and thousands of doctors but he makes the big bucks because there's only one LeBron James and people are willing to part with their hard earned money to watch him play. And that includes a great number of teachers and doctors who sit in the stands at NBA arenas all over the country.

Mr. Woodcock

"Who goofed I've got to know."

Mr. Woodcock

And as far as your political argument is concerned, when LeBron came into the league the haters were already lining up to spew shit at an 18 year old kid because he was being put on a pedestal "before he accomplished anything." The Michael Jordan worshipers crucified him before he even took his first shot. Things got worse as he failed to win championships at Cleveland with Curly, Larry, and Moe. And of course it rose to a crescendo when he made "the decision" to go to Miami. And the funny thing is that until the black lives matter protests began two years ago james was being accused in some circles of not being political. It wasn't until Jim Brown appeared on TV interviews and excoriated today's multimillionaire black athletes to speak out on social issues that any professional athlete opened their mouth.

Bro, I'm as conservative as anyone but as Senator Patrick Moynihan used to say "you are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts."

Mr. Woodcock

Your point about left wing political elitism is more than a valid point, "oh, Jeeves, could you pass the Grey Poupon," but his commentary criticizing Cleveland ownership for being a bunch of cheap assess, which is what this conversation is about, has nothing to do with liberal political elitism and everything to do with winning an NBA championship.

And for that you get a Woodcock non-sequitur penalty card and a 15 minute major penalty. Off to the penalty box OC.

LOL

Mr. Woodcock

Ahahahahaha, Ritchie. That's funny, Jimbo. There's absolutely positively zero chance that Jew Boy McCoy and his wife will agree to that one.

Mr. Woodcock

Well OC, it looks like if Trump hasn't built the wall high enough to keep this guy out by May when the NFL draft takes place, and in keeping with your intangibles theory, and noting as you have before that Jew Boy McCoy loves his Wolverines, then according to this article the Dolphins may be selecting one "Mexican" Taco Charlton, DE from Michigan, as their first choice in the 2017 draft.

"And with the 22nd pick in the first round the Miami Dolphins select Taco Charlton."

"Say, what? Taco who? What the fuck, I thought that the Trumpster promised to keep all these fucking beaners out. What gives?"

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/miami-dolphins-potential-first-round-165232609.html

Mr. Woodcock

"He's an African American Mexican? Oh, I see..."

OC Dolphin

Somebody please hand Lebron a pink pacifier. Wha-wha-wha 💦💦

Mr. Woodcock

Say, Lil' Frog, how the fuck does a brother get him a name like Taco?"

"His mom couldn't spell Paco."

Mr. Woodcock

Rim shot, Dave. Where the fuck is my rim shot!

"Brrrrm pish!"

Thanks Dave.

Jimbo

Recently had a conversation (argument)with my step son (28). He bought into the Bernie Sanders socialist pop politics talking points. "Free college" for everyone, "Free healthcare" for everyone. I put the college this way.

You get a 4 year degree tuition basically paid by taxpayers. Then get a career and pay high enough taxes to fund someone else in college for 35 years. Like getting a "free" Volvo at age 25, only at age 30 pay car payments for the rest of your life. This kid had 75% of (1) associates degree AND (1) bachelors degree paid by my wife's deferred GI bill & WE paid the other 25% for all except one year. AND he was getting $800 month tax-free for living expenses courtesy of the GI bill.... Dude paid 25% for one year without the living expenses. ? Call me ignorant, but I don't see his argument. Somehow he feels like he got stiffed. ? Why does that generation have to have everything handled for them?

He was covered under his Mom's Tricare prime health insurance until age 26. Got a job with a corporation in Nashville and had to sign up for "free" Obama care. The premiums are too high under Obama care. "Corporations and the 1%'ers aren't paying enough". Dude works for a corporation. SMH

Jimbo

Going to church today and giving the body a rest. Been busier than a 1 legged man in an ass kicking contest. Feel it too. Place is coming along.

Jimbo

OC,
Been thinking about getting a boat. Lots of great fishing here. Salt water and fresh water. We could eat fish every other day and not get tired of it. I talked to a local and he said they collect scallops snorkeling.

OC Dolphin

Jimbo, part of the answer to your SIL question may be contained in instances when a young person grows up sorounded by hardship.

Much too often we see young people expect that society should guarantee certain benefits and lifestyles (which they call 'rights') simply because they feel comfortable, empowered by the awareness that they identify with others within a large forum of like-minded idealists - "and by golly, that's the way it SHOULD be."

You'll seldom see those views or expectations from kids, who along with their parents faced experiences like: religious, political or cultural persecution, and otherwise serious financial hardships.

You'll also realistic, appreciative and motivated conduct from many young people whose parents modeled "wise" behavior.

True story: i had a co-worker at Northrop who was around 28 at the time. This guy made manager by 26 and was a hard-working manager. He also worked after hours and weekends developing and selling high-tech racing car parts after. He bought a house in Manhattan Beach before reaching 30.

Here's the rub. Mark's father made millions, owning an advertising company in Madison Avenue. His three kids knew no hardships, but here is what he did. He impressed all his kids with the following: "if you like the lifestyle you have you are going to have to work to get it. Don't expect to go through your lives living off of MY hard work. You're my kids and I'll leave everything I have to all of you, but I've already signed all the legal papers and none of you will see a cent of that until you reach 55!

THE PRO BOWL!! NHL ABSURD ALL-STAR GAME!!

can it get any more ridiculous than this? baseball is the only sport where the guys really play. how about the NBA 186-163 all-star game? in the old days the money that guys got for all-star and championships meant something; now that everyone is a gazillionaire (see hassan whiteside) ther is no incentive to play hard, and no disdain like the AFL-NFL days. egads, another week to the super bowl and i for one am rooting for NE. their "patriot way" is amazing, making chicken salad out of chicken ----.

Mr. Woodcock

Ahahahahahahahaha, there's Ritchie Incognito starting at left guard for the AFC team in the Pro Bowl.

Yea, that was a good move Miami made. And I can still here the snowflakes and buttercups yelling at me on Cote's blog because I was defending Incognito from the git go. In fact some on this blog, you know who you are sided with management and gave me shit. Not you Jimbo.

Heh heh.

Fzb3346

not me Bra...I always thought Martin was a total pussy...the proof was all the players stuck by Incognito and no one sided with him.

Fzb3346

what's up guys, been busy lately fixing up our house, I'm always tired, I'm too old for this shit BUT is the sloooow season anyways.

Mr. Woodcock

It's 70 degrees in Manhattan beach and the jevas are out everywhere. Most impressive.

good news on Tannehill.

Good and bad having to wear a knee brace that affects mobility isn't great.

Fuking Calais Campbell cheap bastard.

Fzb3346

yeah that was a cheap shot fer sure.

BTW guys, the loonie Liberals are still going nuts out there..retards..sorry there David.

hey the Heat somehow have won 7 in a row

Big Baby

Kazaam was right. Trump is already channeling his tv character.

YOU"RE FIRED> HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jimbo

New Orleans hired Mike Nolan as LB's coach. Nolan had a good run of being a top D coordinator. Didn't pan out as head coach. Keep an eye on him.

Woodcock.
Football is a mans game. Every play is a brutal, physical battle. Martin was too soft for the NFL.

Question: Do you think Ross realizes he made a mistake on getting rid of Ritchie? He'll never publicly admit it. Didn't they interview his teammates? They all seemed to back Ritchie. You can't cut the balls off a bull and expect him to fight. Same with football.

Jimbo

FZB,
Are you remodeling? I'm still not done getting the new house completely done. Hoping on being able to get back to normal by Friday. I haven't seen the inside of the gym in 2 weeks.

Fzb3346

as much as I can anyways.

they also want to secede from the union!!! used to be that northern and southern california were two distinct regions, but it is now blue from humboldt to san ysidro.

Big Baby

I believe Vermont has tried that as well shadow. CA and Vermont both beautiful states but both are stuck in a lunatic fringe haze.

Actually every blue state seems to want to bring back the 1960's protest movement. The country has never been more divided than it is right now.

Big Baby

Post Civil War era of course.

Fzb3346

I hope David is not reading this, but the Liberals can kiss my ass...lol

fuck U Obi

hey guys, the Heat are on a roll, they lack talent but man they hustle, I credit the coaching staff, they are doing it with smoke and mirrors.

Big Baby

There are a few talented players on that roster FZB. They are still 19-30 however don't get carried away.

Jimbo

Cali wants to exit the US but still carry the 55 electoral votes. Can't have it both ways.

Jimbo

Homestead (mine) is coming along pretty good. Stuff that haven't been out of packaging in the last 4 moves are seeing the light of day. My wife had her own place when stationed in Grafenwohr Germany, Ft Lewis in Tacoma Washington. I had Canon City & Colorado Springs CO. Together in Louisiana, Austin, Tyndall AFB. Finally somewhere to call home. Rain gutters, 14 pine trees removal next week. Electrical & gutter guys today. I spent 3 years worth of wages in the last month. 60% equity up front on closing.

Mr. Woodcock

I signed 20 petitions yesterday to secede. trump promised to make me the new U.S. ambassador to .ca. but I told him only if they moved the capital from that dump in sucramento.
