hey upside?

let me give you a lesson in proving someone wrong; you don't repost YOUR OWN comment, idiot.

you post the offending party's comments, like this:

Cam is a complete fool. He won't win you games passing with his arm. You need that in a passing league my friend.

hahahahahaha.. he'll only get you to the fucking superbowl

Fzb3346

best sci fi movies???? are we breaking this down into categories??

ok..for my monie is the original Star Wars trilogy, a new hope, the empire strikes back and return of the Jedi..it changed movie making and viewing in some many ways but there are a bunch I also like.

Terminator (the first one)

the Lord of the Rings (all three)

Gostbusters (the first one)

the day the Earth Stood still (a classic)

Close encounters of the third kind.

and I'm still missing a lot of them..

Fzb3346

the new Alpha Dolphins..god I hope is true and Gase is a no nonsense type of leader, yes I said leader..you can find a bunch of head coaches out there but few can lead, fucking Ross set the franchise back years with Sparano and the Janitor...hoping they hit a homerun with Gase.

fuck you Ross.

Fzb3346

here's another one..

back to the future (the first one)..

OC Dolphin

FZ, Not sure I would place the Lord of the Rings into pure science fiction, more a fantasy category, along with unicorn movies.

I did enjoy them, however.

(the real) david in los angeles

big game tonight boys.
haslem needs to have some good minutes like the last couple games, dragic and deng need to score like they were before the last game and we should be ok.

OC Dolphin

The mark of a good SciFi for me are movies that I'll sit through time and time again, regardless of whether I happen to tune in as I'm changing channels. Movies like:

Most Star Trek and Star Wars, oldies like Them, The Thing, The Fly, Invaders from Mars (that one still gives me nightmares), Body Snatchers, Forbidden Planet, War of the World (both), The Time Machine, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Mysterious Island. Newer ones like: The Fifth Element, Total Recall (Arnold version), 2010 Space Odyssey, Mission to Mars, Mars Attacks (really, really good!), Contact, Avatar, The Abyss, and most recently, Ex Machina

OC Dolphin

Heat should win tonight. Home game that will be played hard due back to the wall (short Whiteside).

(the real) david in los angeles

i sure hope so, OC.
with your lakers out, there's gotta be some hometown pride in you hoping the heat win, right?

OC Dolphin

They would be my Eastern Conference favorites and yes, all things Miami remain too shed items, but I'm still fundamentally a Western Conference fan.

OC Dolphin

Top shelf items...

fellers,

how about the original dracula (with bela and frankenstein with boris k. also gotta throw in the mix "night of the living dead". am in total agreement with "the day the earth stood still". happynot to have to traverse 800+ posts, no matter how good they may be.

Big Baby,

i missed both goals by the stars, but didi manage to see the debacle at first base by realmuto turning into fair territory while ozone was tagging up.beisbol, mis amigos!!!!

Big Baby

shadow as Kazaam pointed out previously you can click on the names under recent comments on the upper right.

I am up for some beisbol. Red Sox continue to scorch the ball best offense in baseball. David Ortiz is raking at age 40. Best Sox player next to Ted Williams and that is saying something.

Big Baby

I am not so sure the Spurs will advance OC.

OC Dolphin

Hahahahaha, shadow. Please do cut me some slack (refreshing posts). After all, it's not as if I'm being paid to do this...I promise to try to update at least once a week.

OC Dolphin

Heat win in overtime to make it 2-2. Do hope they win game six to send it to a seventh.

Mr. Woodcock

WADE!

WHAT A PLAYER!

Mr. Woodcock

Most underrated superstar in league history.

These teams were so bad tonight, at one point the basketball just gave up.

https://twitter.com/MikeSGallagher/status/729866053216538624

I'm not so sure Toronto wins game 5, the pressure will be on them, their two 'stars' are a mess, and they'll be facing angry Wade with canadians booing every touch over the national anthem nonsense.

So the lowest scoring team in the Conference is going to win games without their best player? If it happens it will defy logic.

(the real) david in los angeles

kaz, you have to admit the defense played exceptional, despite the offensive woes.

had our offense been on we'd have blown them out of the building. very routine shots were missed; even the deng dunk and 1 missed..

if we can get just a little more offense out of the other guys we should be ok..

(the real) david in los angeles

i was right about winslow getting minutes this game; his defense was great, and he made a couple of great offensive plays around the basket.

i love the kid.. never looks rattled..

Account Deleted

Na, lowry and derozan were terrible, this was just horrible offense on both sides.

No substitute for the high end talent, Wade tied the game

and then iced it.

GS-Portland, an entirely different class of basketball.

Still no substitute for the high end talent.

(the real) david in los angeles

they played good D; it wasn't all their guards playing terrible.

we had 5 blocks for the game, 9 steals..
joe johnson had 2 blocks in overtime..

yeah both offenses sucked, but we got multiple stops, and at the end we got em when we needed em.

(the real) david in los angeles

we're tied 2-2 in the 2nd round of the playoffs without 2 very key starters, one being an all star.
with a healthy line up we win this in 5, tops..

It's all relative.

hey dude..
no one here is claiming the heat are as good as the team that just broke the record for most victories in a season, least of all me.

as you have said, my hope was to give the cavs hell in the conference finals and maybe take them..
that is a victory for me.

we that, and continuing to be better than that overrated shit boston celtics team; you know, the one baby claimed was better than miami all year but somehow they're already done!

Fzb3346

Well now the Heat put their big boy pants on last night...key to the victory was D Wade and the defense...on to game five...they can win there but DWade needs help..a couple of other players need to show up.

If I had to guess?... I'm looking at Johnson and Dragic...if would also help if the rookies show up too.

OC Dolphin,

i certainly didn't mean to denigrate the blog or complain about you not having a new thread every other day!! you know how much i enjoy the camaraderie here with the guys; it is just with my new computer its takes a decade to get to the end, and heaven knows i don't wanna miss one lovely exchange between the citizens. here types one very appreciative of your efforts feller!!!

the shadow knows

THE RAPTORS ARE A BAD,BAD TEAM!!!

once it got to OT, i turned off the radio as doom for toronto was looming. the raptors had a five point lead with a few minutes left, but once the regulation ended it was a done deal that wade and the rest of his team would prevail. #3 is one tough hombre in this kind of situation, and toronto has nobody who can take over in an extra five minutes.

Mr. Woodcock

I fell for you east coast boys. Man did you guys miss a game last night. This one was for the ages. Overtime in Portland. Curry comes back after almost three weeks, has to play more minutes because Shawn Livingston gets thrown out of the game in the first half and he starts slow and like Sinatra singing "That's Life" he slowly builds it up to a crescendo.

40 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, "17" points in overtime!.

Let me say that again because you had to be there to believe it and he scored in every way possible, "17 POINTS IN OVERTIME."

Yea, I was thinking that last year Cleveland was up 2-1 without Love and the Irving gets hurt and they lose and now they're healthy and they have 'Bron, and they're raining 3 pointers, and they're in the week East, and they can rest after they laid the wood to Atlanta, and......

"Hey! Wake the fuck up Woodcock."

"What, what, was I rambling again. Thanks I needed that. If Stephen Curry is standing on the basketball court when the clock ticks 0.0 you can start etching the Warriors name of the trophy."

Mr. Woodcock

Let me add that the 17 was in ONE overtime not two or three..........

Yea, the boy can play.

OC Dolphin

Yep, saw that, Woods. It's just fun to watch great players at the peak of their abilities.

Jimbo

david
OC's new home town is closest to San Antonio. Spurs would be a better choice over Heat.

Jimbo

Dolphins note: Not played a game (even preseason) to judge new staff & players. New this, new that, hopeful, sets u up for disappointment.
Manning, Gase are helping Tannehill. Sounds good. Their is some good talent intertwined with ? marks. First and foremost is settling the O line. Who plays where. Let the starters play the entire first half in each preseason game at the position they are intended to play. Not sure of the left tackle position. Albert is the proven vet vs Tunsil who will be the franchise LT starting next year & for the next decade. One on One's vs Suh, vs Williams, vs Wake could factor in.

Jimbo

grammar Nazi - screwed up the "their instead of there's". fire me.

Jimbo

woodcock
no doubt about Curry's NBA stud status. warriors are by far the best. OKC & SA are fighting for 2nd and LaBron's team is the NBA's 4th best. Huge drop off after that.

Mr. Woodcock

Warriors are stacked. Worse mistake Buss family made was pissing off Jerry West. He went to Memphis for crissakes and built a good team there, then he went to The City and this team has his fingerprints all over it. Draymond Green is a great player, so is Thompson, after that their talent is deep and versatile. They have length, size, speed, outside shooting, every player can pass the ball, it's not a fluke that they are the single season record holders in wins.

OC Dolphin

Buss rhymes with puss.

Mr. Woodcock

Nothing wrong with Jeany's.

Mr. Woodcock

Pus, that is......

Mr. Woodcock

Looks like the Ross administration is paying Peyton "Freaking" Manning to come out and help Tannehill. That makes it now two legendary HOF QBs that are assisting Jr.

The song you hear in the background is Elvis' rendition of "It's Now or Never."

Fzb3346

Curry is the MVP, what's there any doubt?...I don't think so.

Fzb3346

in order for the Heat to win this series someone other than D Wade needs to step up and soon...there's a few that haven't been as good as the last series..

Dragic, Johnson, Deng...its time for the Vets to show the way..

Mr. Woodcock

http://www.newsweek.com/gene-simmons-reflects-bowie-prince-deaths-457851

Fzb3346

OC and Woody, I did not realize that Jerry West had or has a hand in building the Warriors, that explains it all, I think that West along Riley are the best at what they do..and if the Lakers let him go?..well its on them.

no wonder they suck.

(the real) david in los angeles

jimbo, i thought the spurs had an INSANE season; they were overshadowed by golden state's historic run but i agree with woody.
if curry is healthy, no one is stopping them, least of all the cavs.

draymond green will neuter kevin love, and kyrie irving will not be able to defend curry; as i said last year, without love and irving they were able to D up the warriors better but no one will outrun them.

their defense is insanely underrated and the cavs won't be shooting 50% from 3 against THE HEAT, let alone the warriors.

curry is insane; he is, without question, the best shooter i have ever seen in my life.

better than allen, miller, bird.. name the guy.. curry is better.

(the real) david in los angeles

FZB..

the warriors hired jerry west as a consultant board member in 2011.
he drafted curry, green, thompson and others.
his hands are all over their personnel and success.

laker fans inexplicably have to look around the NBA, see phil in new york, riley in miami and west in san fransisco and ask themselves what the fuck happened..

(the real) david in los angeles

and FZB, you are right about the heat.

i think deng and/or dragic can find the stroke they had last series as well as the 1st 2 games of THIS series.
i just hope whiteside can come back for the next series but like i said, riley, (not ainge) deserves executive of the year.

we lost the best player on the planet, rebuilt our roster around wade and bosh, LOST bosh again and we're 2 wins from the eastern conference finals.

AFTER BEING A LOTTERY TEAM LAST YEAR.

riley is a fucking genius; no one comes close.
with a young core of whiteside, winslow, richardson, (who is getting better by the game) and tyler, with an ageless wade there's no way kevin durant doesn't come down to miami.

(the real) david in los angeles

big upside thinks differently but then again...

dummy I have seen as much basketball as you have. I know what wins in the NBA.

Posted by: Big Baby | 10/24/2015 at 12:32 AM

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Fzb3346

I agree David, the fack that Riley doesn't get more recognition is a travesty.. what more can he do..

lost LeBron, the team was racket by injuries and in the lottery, this year lost Bosh again and now the best young center in the league and we are still in it..damn cool if you ask me..

Fzb3346

fack= fact

that's what happens when you type fast.

(the real) david in los angeles

yep.
it's amazing being a heat fan; as you remember, this was what being a dolphin fan used to feel like.

100% confidence in the coach, the GM and the owner.
the feeling that every year if certain things go right we'd be in it, and a 100% commitment to winning.

Mr. Woodcock

Riley has done a great job and has had a great career as a player, coach, and an executive in the NBA, but he will be the first to tell you that compared to his ex teammate, boss, and his very very good friend Jerry West, Riles is still a messenger boy for his old pal just like he was when he was coming off the bench for the Baylor/West Lakers.

"Hey, Pat, can you get Elgin and me some clean towels. Thanks buddy."

It's not a fluke that Mr. West is on the NBA logo.

Mr. Woodcock

The city of Los Angeles has had a virtual who's who of sports greats for years and years and years, and Mr. West is at the very top of that pantheon along with some of the most legendary sports figures in world history, and I'm talking about names like Koufax, Robinson, Kareem, Baylor, Magic, Wilt, Kobe, Shaq, Olsen, etc.

He was that good.

the shadow knows

Mr. Woodcock,

LA in the mid sixties had the most incredible array of sports talent-professional, college, and in the announcing booths. and i am in total agreement regarding all phases of jerry west's basketball life. in his foray into coaching, he took KAJ and a bunch of scrubs to the western division title, only to be ousted in a sweep by the most under talked champs in NBA history-the 76-77 portland trailblazers, my favorite squad ever aside from any off the baylor/west/wilt lakers.

Big Baby

woodcock they aren't paying Manning he's made 20 mil a year plus endorsements the last 18 years.

He loves the game and talking football. I also think he likes Tannehill as a person and thinks he can succeed in the league.

That's just my hunch talking but I really really hope I he has a good year so I can laugh in not only your face but Kazaam's too.

Good Elvis Now or Never reference though.

Hey dave do you ever get tired of trolling me? I mean seriously all day long with that noise lol. You're such a gay little hipster. Wahhhh you're a hater Prince, Danny Ainge, Ted Cruz, Steph Curry is the greatest I am 12 years old yay!

Mr. Woodcock

I would love to be wrong about Tannehill, BB.

Big Baby

I know you would woodcock. We have both seen enough misery the last 30 years or so to be cynical.

Big Baby

NBA draft should be interesting. Philly, Lakers, and Boston in descending order have the best chances at landing the Numero uno pick.

Big Baby

shadow Lightning advance pretty easily without Stamkos. Tampa vs. Pit/ Wash winner should be a good series.

Big Baby

Golden State drafted incredibly well to get where they are. Spurs GM has done an amazing job for 14 years. OKC isn't incredibly deep but the two stars they have carry them. I am hoping Durant gets to the Finals and stays in OKC so he doesn't leave and form a super team somewhere else. People continue to not give the Cavaliers much credit but they are a very good team.

Big Baby

Washington looking at another playoff series loss despite finishing with the best record in the conference.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

quick striking by the penguins due to the horrible play by brooks orpik. it seems washington was better off with him suspended.

meanwhile, my guy kawhi leonard finishes 2nd in the MVP voting. that is a nice parlay with the defensive player of the year.

the shadow knows

and ...

19 points thus far in game 5!!! next year he will be a monster on offense to go along with his defensive talents.

Big Baby

You are right to like Leonard second in MVP voting is a tremendous accomplishment.

Fzb3346

I'm watching the SA / OKC game and is a dousey ...tied at 78 in the 4th QT...heck of a game.

Mr. Woodcock

I love the nba playoffs. I used to watch them on tape delay at 11:30 pm . Yup no one can imagine that in the early 70s the ratings got so bad that the finals were tape delayed to 11:30 pm. I listened to the rick barry warrior team victory over wes unselds bullets driving cross country from miami to ca. Now look where the league is at.

Mr. Woodcock

Yea baby okc!

I do not like san antonio never have. I watch the games with my 90 year old mom whos a huge nba fan. Shes a spurs fan. Im giving her the raspberries right now. He he.

here are a couple of GREAT ones; baby's idiotic comment and my prescient response:

dave did you like my trouble in heatland post? Didn't get a response from you seems you only like to comment when things are going well in your nba world. I'll keep them coming though. Don't act like it's just me mentioning it been a national story.

Posted by: Big Baby | 12/11/2015 at 04:34 PM

yes, in early december i will only comment when things are good, because if things AREN'T good, there's still plenty of time to fix it.
as the starting 5 of the heat never played one game until this season started, i and everyone else have been saying it will take time for the team to gel, which is what we are seeing now.
i'll let wade explain it:

"We just have to find that 'it' together as a team," Wade said. "It's going to take a while for us to decide how we want this season to go. If we want it to go in a positive way, we'll figure out how to get it together. Everyone means well on this team. It's all about communicating to each other. We talk often, but we just have to make those adjustments on the fly. If we do that, we'll be fine."

if you think i am worried about us after dropping 2 games in a row, you haven't been paying attention.
i don't care if we lose 5 in a row.

we will make the playoffs, and our high IQ, high defense minded game will be one that lasts in the playoffs, long after boston is eliminated.

Posted by: (the real) david in los angeles | 12/11/2015 at 04:50 PM

ahhhhhh.. "long after boston is eliminated.."

see big upside?
i own your ass..
admit miami is better or you will never hear the end of it.

hahahahahahahahahahaha

Fzb3346

the Thunder showed up last night and beat SA at home, that team is peaking at the right time, Warriors / Thunder..that's going to be must see TV.

Heat have a good chance to win tonight, Toronto doesn't scare anyone at home, its a matter of who's going to show up tonight, Johnson and Dragic need to show up, our two rookies are the key specially on defense.

ps. when does football season starts again?

Mr. Woodcock

Wow, the NBA playoffs are blowing up again this year. Just one great game after another. Everything going down to the wire to the last shot.

It's a star driven league and right now the constellations are bright in the sky. Durant and Westbrook have been shining bright high in the night sky this week.

Great stuff.

How on Earth did UCLA not win a national championship when Ben Howland was the coach.

Mr. Woodcock

The rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated.

San Antonio Spurs

Bro, they're just down one game with a 7th game at home in their pocket.

Never underestimate a team's chance in the NBA. Especially a team like San Antonio. Right now the Thunder have their boot in the Spurs throat but Durant and Westbrook have shown before that although they are the most dynamic duo in the game they have a tendency to get sloppy sometimes, and as Don Vito so eloquently stated, "Men in my position can't afford to make mistakes." Or something to that effect.

It's only a 3-2 lead, bro. If you think the Spurs are just going to lay down for the Thunder you're crazy. Durant and Westbrook are going to have to play their ass off to win tomorrow.

I will say, that in sports death by age happens instantly and the tried and true Spurs triumvirate that has won so many games suddenly looks old and haggard.

Mr. Woodcock

http://www.thephinsider.com/2016/5/10/11650106/miami-dolphins-running-back-jay-ajayi-kenyan-drake-nfl-mess

Fzb3346

Oye Wood's...I'm not worried AT ALL about that article on the Dolphins so called "running back mess"..those people don't know shit..the Dolphins just added a stud tackle in the draft and we have Albert, Pouncey and James coming back from injury..on paper the O Line will be very good...which is what you need.

they can get a street free agent and he'll get 1000 easy..

Heat better win tonight or I'll be pissed

Mr. Woodcock

Agreed. I'll worry in September not in May.

Oye, mi hijo, when you coming out here? You going to wait until Jr. graduates from UCLA?

Fzb3346

OC is too busy watching those bats flying around.

Big Baby

if curry is healthy, no one is stopping them, least of all the cavs

Prediction time again pansy!

Cleeland will win the NBA championship this year. With Love and Irving back Cleveland has the roster to do it this year. Shut up Davey. Shut up bitter Heat fans and people who say they aren't any good (Jimbo). Go Clevelnd!

Big Baby

Cleveland. Pansy.

Big Baby

East is Beast that's right OC.

Big Baby

Lebron is still a way better all around player than Steph Curry.

Big Baby

Was that fat always injured one hit wonder Maurice Jones Drew telling us the Dolphins have running back problems?

Whatevs MJD it's a passing league you big blubbermouth. I love reading the Phinsiders but sometimes it's just noise and nothing more. I do wish they picked up a veteran rb but if all else fails sign Foster off the scrap heap.

Big Baby

shadow TB vs Pitt should be a good one.

My early pick for Stanley Cup winner is the St. Louis Blues. High flying, talented deep roster they end the drought this year I think. I am into predictions today I guess. If Tampa get by Pitt and gets Stamkos back that would be a fantastic Final Tampa would have a chance. Lots of Blue uni's.

you do realize you just ensured a repeat for the warriors, because every basketball prediction you make is wrong.

we never said the cavs weren't good.

we said the celtics weren't good.

golden state will destroy the cavs just like they did last year.

is lebron a better all around player?

sure.

but green is better than love, steph is better than kyrie, clay is better than JR, amd iguadola is better than anyone coming off the cav's bench.

just give it a rest; isn't there a priest somewhere who can fondle you as you recall your childhood?

stop wasting time talking about the NBA, as you haven't been right about anything all year.. dumb ass.. lol

(the real) david in los angeles

Stop saying idiotic and baseless things and people will stop pointing out how idiotic and baseless the things you say are.

Heat are bad defensively because they only beat Sacramento without Cousins by 7?

What?

Ryan Tannehill can't be bad because he threw 60 times for 350 yards in garbage time of a beat down?

Absolute crazy talk.

Come on, david, enough with the Catholic priest molesting references. Every time you use it you're not just ripping into BB, you're also ridiculing me and others who follow the faith.

(the real) david in los angeles

not true, as you obviously aren't a victim of sexual abuse who screams "fag" when you're upset.
