FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET: Arizona Cardinals All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson was asked recently on the Dan Patrick Show who he thought were the two fastest receivers he's had to cover during his time in the NFL. His answer was both telling and humorous: "The fastest receiver I ever went against is [Dolphins receiver] Mike Wallace -- by far." Peterson said. "Him and [Redskins receiver] DeSean Jackson. They have what I call crackhead speed. The speed is hard to explain because those guys are just so fast and you have to be on your A-Game when you go against them."
Peterson described what the term meant. "Yeah, it's not an official term, it's just something we say back in the neighborhood back home." Peterson said. "When you're really, really fast, you call it crackhead speed. Those two definitely have that hidden gear. I don't know what it is, what those guys were drinking coming up, but those guys definitely have a different speed than some of the other guys around the league."
Too bad Tannehill doesn't seem to have the arm or touch to exploit this seldom-tapped Dolphins' weapon.
Weather outlook for the Denver game: 40° and partly cloudy, with 18 mph winds.
WHAT WILL JEFFREY LORIA DO NEXT? After signing his 25 year-old star to a $329M, 13 year contract, will he spend as freely to build up the rest of the team? Marlins fans have to be skeptical, as memories of the "gutting job" Mr. Loria performed in 2012 run fresh.
