Fzb3346

hey a new post..keep up the great job you are doing buddy, we are all grateful..

boxing...que?..I haven't followed boxing in years, since Ali and smoking Joe..

the Dolphins season is sure on the line, win and we have a chance to finish with 9 or 10 wins, lose?..well then we can start talking about next years draft and hopefully getting rid of U know who..hehe

the Canes better win this saturday, that's all I'm going to say about that.

Big Baby

Canes have no shot. Zero. Zip. Sorry bro.

Jimbo

Last game comment: Landry has a great return to start the second half. THill throws for a first down. Daniel Thomas fumbles..... Charles Clay drops TD pass. Albert out. O-line getting shuffled to compensate. IMO, James gets put at LT, Thomas goes to RT, assuming Colledge is healthy goes to LG. Start the rookie RB D William, kid can play, nice mix of some power, some speed but his greatest attribute is his feel for the game - warp speed compared to college - to cut, spin, allude tacklers. Landry is getting better every week. This Dolphins draft class has been very good... Hickey you da man! The only guy who hasn't played is rookie OLineman Billy Turner who we could use in a bad way since Albert's placement on IR.

No doom & gloom from this fan. From top to bottom, this is the best Dolphins team talent wise we have seen in a l-o-n-g time.

Big Baby

That game was a total cluterfu*k. My last game thread.

Big Baby

That game reminded me of the Chad Henne era. No more please.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

"the chad henne era!!" and the dolphinbs thought they had a steal in that big galute from michigan!! my late pal, jim mandich RIP, thought his alma mater was a good source for pro QBs. he was right- mediocre ones (excepting for tom brady). like jim harbaugh, brian griese, et al. and brady was completely overlooked except by noted homo neil rogers.

the shadow knows

TO TOM BRADY'S CREDIT...

he hasn't gone ballistic appearing in commercials as have drew brees, aaron rodgers, and worst ofd all that lame hillbilly peyton manning-hawking pizzas, buicks, insurance-anything. i have yet to see NE's #12 in any commercial; maybe he is doing a few locally in boston. then of course, he has a wife with a substantial income of her own. hey, peyton manning, tell your wife to get a job and getr that bronco horse face (even more than elway, which is difficult) of the big TV. man, i am sick of him and the buick insured by nationwide in which he probably eats those (UGGHHH) franchise pizzas. widh he'd retire, but he isn't going anywhere, unfortunately. a big dumbass redneck one hit away from a wheelchair (don't wish it on him or anybody).

Fzb3346

Oh ooh..shadow ragging on good guy Payton?..

What is this world coming to?...

Jimbo..Hickey has done a great job indeed with the draft and free agency...that was a good hire by our asswipe owner...no question.

BB...since I'm a total Miami Hurricane homer and apologist I'm picking my Canes to win on sat..yeah I said it.

Big Baby

Dream big FZB no harm in that. Shadow the Henne era what is is with Michigan qb's has there ever been a good one besides Brady? Elvis Grbac? No. Harbaugh had a fine career as a backup but starters are hard to find coming out of there. RE: Peyton he is sort of funny in a harmless aw shucks way but overexposed. I really hope we beat them in a few weeks. My book says he chokes in big games. He did it in college and throughout most of his NFL career. One championship will be his overexposed legacy. Better than we got with Dan but still mostly just a great regular season QB.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

harmless changes when it is a case of over-overexposure; way too much of him. guy was lucky that the chargers lost to NE in the playoffs when the idiot DB intercepted a 4th down pass and fumbled it back to NE trying to be a hero, and the jerk said he'd do the same thing again. the chargers had the best team that year and would have beaten your harmless aw shucks guy at home; instead the colts beat NE and then trounced a really crummy bunch of bears in the rain here in miami (if the memory is working).

the shadow knows

FZB,

the wise guys have made FSU a very scant 1 1/2 favorite against the canes. UM will need MDJ and philip dorsett to outrun the injuns' fast defenders and their line to block a very decent and big and strong FSU defensive front. would be great if FSU lost, but i don't think it will happen.

Mr. Woodcock

Again Jimbo with another great post. Yea, that guy Hickey did do a great job since he got here. No complains at all. I may try for the daily double and try to go to the Dolphins game on Thursday.

Mr. Woodcock

The keys to Saturday's game is putting pressure on Crab Legs and stopping the run. The last few games we have done neither.

Dorsett is the key on offense for a guy with his skills he has underperformed all year. If he can have a breakout game and Duke runs wild we have a punchers chance.

How long can FSU skate on thin ice before they break through?

Mr. Woodcock

Oye, OC, I don't know why I read this and thought about you....

"Not every flower can say love, but a rose can. Not every plant survives a thirst, but a cactus can. Not every retard can read, but look at you go, little buddy!
Today, you should take a moment and send an encouraging message to a fucked up friend, just as I have done. I don't care if you lick windows or screw farm animals. You hang in there cupcake, because you're fucking special to me, and you’re my friend. Look at you smiling at your screen, you crayon eating motherfucker."

Fzb3346

Now that's true love right there..

Fzb3346

Happy vet's day to all our troops past and present..

roid rage

Anything can happen in Canes/Noles games...I've witnessed many in person...don't count the Canes out so quickly...I can't wait to be there Sat night...tailgate apocalypse!

Big Baby

Peyton isn't my guy shadow I basically called him overrated. If my memory serves NE blew a 21-6 halftime playoff lead against the Colts the year they went and beat the Bears in the rain. PS Mark Sanchez looked pretty good last night guy used to be able to play. Wouldn't surprise me if the Jets ruined him.

Big Baby

Nothing beats that new car smell....Chicken parm you taste so good...

Jimbo

Peyton Manning is a top regular season QB, drops into the average post season level. Manning's Super Bowl game pick 6 vs NO is what he is.
BB-- your right, Chad Henne could have QB'd the Colts to beat the Bears in that Super Bowl.

Jimbo

Damn Woody! Read your poem, so thoughtful, brought a tear to my eye.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

geez, thanx for starting my morning off with one of peyton manning's commercials. it was a shame that the chargers didn't get to play the colts that year due to a brain dead marlon mckee (sic). they were really good on both sides of the ball, had ladanian t. and darren sproles off the bench, and died a miserable death at home owing to that idiot running back and fumbling a ball that should have been dropped. and they ragged on "martyball" when the system he employed- run and defend- will always be the mantra of guys of his era (i think mike ditka says that very time asked before MNF as to what team X will have to do to win). can't they get a close game now and then on thur/sun/monday nights? past the redskins and cowboys i can't recall a non-blowout. and if mark snachez can look very good, chip kelly must have a good system going; i mean he did take a middling pac-? QB in nick foles and make a winner out of him. not sure matt barkley will ever play in the NFL- cause being his weak arm. and my guy kellen moore will need some sort of injury to matthew stafford to get a chance. best winner in college football history, lights em up when he gets his preseason chances, a decent guy and an incredibly accurate arm, albeit not a really powerful one.

the shadow knows

FZB,

don't think UM will score enough against FSU. yes they have real weapons, but FSU has some choice athletes all over the defense and i am not sure that MDJ will break free from the very fast injun defense. dorsett seems to be a better candidate for your "puncher's chance" versus FSU. UM will be amped up and as much as i'd like FSU to fall, i just don't see it. would love to be proven horribly wtong- now jameis winston is being associated with point shaving!! (usually a basketball deal) has a friend making huge bets that FSU will trail at halftime, which, dadgum, they have managed to do.
now it is looking like FSU, the SEC champ, and two of the following: oregon (despite the fact they have no defense), TCU, baylor, and the other SEC west team. we shall see after the tide and bulldogs are done. miss state has a game against alabama which can't throw or score against a good D, and they have a good D in starksville, subject of a bob dylan song as done by the man in black, RIP:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIFQkbhTIGk&list=RDxIFQkbhTIGk

the shadow knows

CORRECTION:
starkville city jail was a johnny cash penned ditty.

Big Baby

Chargers should have won that game but they didn't. Brady didn't have his usual game NE was ripe for a loss. That CB should have just went down to the ground on that int but most players don't think like that. You have to credit the NE WR for stripping the ball away heads up play.

Not only does Chip Kelly have a good system going he has a great system going. The envy of the league. We can only hope that Lazor gleaned from it (I think he did it's showing) but he needs to get Hartline more involved. He has put my boy into the witness protection program that's on him.

Big Baby

That point shaving story is interesting shadow especially the way Louisville handled FSU in that first half. That kid seems to be pure trouble with not a brain in his head. Great football player but whoever takes him number one overall next year is taking a risk. Point shaving is a felony we will see if this story has legs or not soon I think.

Jimbo

BB
Hartline has too many dropped passes this season to justify keeping him. Miami leads the league in $$ spent on WR's. With Wallace's speed & ability he's staying put, Landry's rise, Gibson's & Matthews' talents, I see BH getting traded out of Miami this offseason.

Fzb3346

on crab legs Winston?..nothing is going to happen, Jimbo Fisher is a total asswipe, he will play anyone short of them committing a double murder.

hey is Tom all right?..we haven't heard much from him after Auburn lost that game on sat..

gent's I'm picking Miami to win on Thursday night (as usual) but its not going to be easy, their D line is probably even better than the Lions and now we have our best lineman out, Dallas Thomas and Shelley Smith don't give me great confidence.

Fzb3346

on the Criminoles / Canes game.

I'm kind of hoping for an error free game on our part plus a strong running game, I think that's our best chance.

Canes will win..yeah I said it.

Fzb3346

BB..on Hartline..Jimbo thinks as I do, Hartline is not great shakes, he'll be gone in the off season.

I think we need a bigger physical WR in there opposite Wallace, and this is not the first time I said this.

Big Baby

Jimbo If Gibson was lighting it up maybe Hartline would be expendable that story is still playing out. Matthews has been pretty quiet as well. They need all of them to contribute mightily right now forget the offseason if they want to make the playoffs. Our TE's are not helping really at all they should be getting tons of looks at WR those guys.

Big Baby

Tom is not all right. Carolina is a terrible football team I think he has season tickets.

(the real) david in los angeles

the receivers are not the problem.
gibson and matthews have performed well; they just never get targeted consistently.
hartline is definitely having an off year; he hasn't been targeted as much either, and it appears he just can't get his rhythm.
at $7.3 million next year, considering the injuries we had at the position last year, i like the idea of keeping him, unless we can work an amazing trade.

Big Baby

All of the Dolphin WR's have disappointed this year besides Mike Wallace. If we didn't have a decent running game this team wouldn't be very good right now. They need to improve or it's home for the holidays. david it's probably a mix of not being targeted and not being open. When a WR doesn't produce I usually side on the not getting open choice more often.

(the real) david in los angeles

we all better collectively pray that lamar miller can be healthy by thursday night.
the last buffalo game, he had 11 carries for 42 yards at 4.2 yards a carry.
once again, he was criminally underused, but that's what happens when you ignore your team's strength and force something else.
damien williams had nice numbers against detroit, and their front is quite similar to that of buffalo's.
daniel thomas had a great game against the bills last year, gaining 60 yards on 12 carries.
one of these guys needs to really step up.

Big Baby

I don't think he will be healthy for awhile much to our shagrin. I talked to a guy with that shoulder injury he said it's really painful can't lift your arm lots of wrapping. I can't see running effectively against Buffalo. I think they gained 50 yards against Detroit. With a depleted offensive line Tannehill is going to have to win this one and many more.

Big Baby

Plus it really worries me running rookies out there in big games. Sounds like James from SF may get some run though fingers crossed he plays well. Lazor says he likes his style and fits the offense here is hoping.

Big Baby

david have you been over to the Sun Sentinel lately? I am still laughing about that time you schooled that Reel Dolphin guy too funny! Is he still there or has he left? I go once in a while while it's free.

(the real) david in los angeles

i looked for hom after the winning streak but, of course, like the miami heat haters a few years ago, he scurried away like the roach he is. lol

(the real) david in los angeles

how can you say "all the receivers" have been a disappointment?
that's insane.
landry is a disappointment?
you must be joking.
as for gibson and matthews, when they've been targeted, they've made big plays.
out of matthews 11 receptions, 7 were 1st downs!
gibson has 11 receptions for the year too, and 6 were 1st downs!
THEY AREN'T BEING USED.
wallace and landry are the 2 leading receivers on the team, and that's a formidable duo right there.

roid rage

Landry has been lights out...he is great on returns as well...

Phins need to give more carries to Williams...that kid is hungry...

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

$7 million next year for brian hartline? absurd amount of money for anyone not in the top tiers of passcatchers, and methinks hartline is third level. whether he is dropping passes or not, that is a huge chunk of change for a second class wideout.

the shadow knows

NEWEST RAGE-"A GAP BLITZES"!!

puhleeze, if any team ran sweeps effectively they'd force the other teams to stop rushing over the middle. geez, the steelers were great because, among other attributes offensively, they ran toss sweeps to FB franco harris. nobody could waste two defenders on what one MLB used to do by hisself.

Fzb3346

The Dolphins would be wise to get rid of Hartline and maybe Gibson ( I like Gibson better) and really try to find a bigger more physical receiver to go with Wallace and Landry.

Also, why not give Rishard Matthews a bigger role in the offense?

And we need to finish our O Line rebuilt...

The Bills game is a must win for Miami, win and we still have a chance..lose and we are back to 500 heading into Denver, the problem is we don't match up very well against their front four and we got injuries to deal with ...Tannehill needs to show up and Lazor needs to be very creative....can they do it?

Big Baby

Landry has been fine kid is electric but he's probably the 4th best rookie WR this season. He's behind Mike Evans, Odell Beckham Jr. Jordan Matthews he's far from a stud yet. I said Mike Wallace was the only WR having a really good year for Miami and that statement is true. They need way more help. Seems you folks are still stuck in the Jay Fiedler era.

Big Baby

Passing League!!!

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

jay fiedler was a better athlete than tannehill is, but the coaches never had him roll out or do anything to take advantage of his skills. still has a very high winning %age among dolphin QBs and has been by far the best QB since ole #13 retired to impregnate CBS interns. how did an adonnis type guy like marino get stuck with his unlovely claire? was she knocked up in college?

Big Baby

A better athlete than Tannehill? No way. Tannehill runs around a 4.5 and throws very well on the run. How many 30 yards runs does he have this season he is on pace for 400 plus yards rushing. As athletic as Fiedler was he wasn't in Tannehill's class.

Big Baby

Speaking of young Ryan he is pretty banged up has ankle and shoulder injuries. The pitfalls of playing the number one defense and running the read option. Let's hope he is ready to go in a few days. He is a tough kid.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

jay fiedler was a decent "decathlon-er". as such, i would venture to say that he was a better athlete than tannehill is.

the shadow knows

BB,

they have jay fiedler down as a 4.6 or 4.7 for the 40, which is no big difference for a QB. basically for wideouts a tenth of a second means a yard of "separartion" from DBs, but for QBs rolling out it doesn't seem to be that big a deal.

Big Baby

shadow Tannehill played WR in college and is now a starting NFL QB. That pretty much sums it up as to his superior athletic ability. He was highly recruited out of Texas Fiedler played at an IVY League school. There isn't really a comparison Tannehill is much more the physical specimen even in height. Fiedler got the most out of talents he is the all time leader in passing at Dartmouth. You are correct though he is the best we have had since Marino but that isn't saying all that much he won one playoff game and had a stellar defense and running game his whole career.

the shadow knows

BB<

even with a horrible 1-6 in 2004, fiedler was 36-23 starting for miami; subtract that year as an aberration, and he is 35-17, over .667 winning %age. tannehil is 1 game under .500 and we shall see ifd e ever gets close to fiedler's winning %age. until further notice, i'll stay with the decathlete and his near 1300 SAT. wunder(lich) what tannehill has going upstairs for hisself?

the shadow knows

BB,

tannehill-34 (not bad at all); fiedler reportedly in the high 40s, and finished the "exam" in record time. andrew luck-37, but not close to a perfect score, as achieved by pat mcanally (sic) punter/wideout from harvard that pplayed for the bengals

Big Baby

Tannehill was pre-med school after graduating from Texas A& M. Seems you are just arguing with your heart and not your head at this point. I know Fiedler is Jewish I hope that isn't the reason for your misguided argument because the facts just aren't there. Tannehill was drafted 8 overall for a reason Pete Carroll was going to take him if Miami didn't.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

pat mcinally and ryan fitzpatrick have achieved the perfect score of 50; i guess a harvard education does mean something!! johnny manziel (no brain scientist it seems) checked in at 32, close to fellow aggie #17 at 34. (all are based on unverified reports). well, let's see what thursday nightn has in store for dolphin fans- a loss and it is curtains for this season barring an incredible turnaround. KC methinks plays seattle and hasn't given up a rushing TD all season; a seattle win would certainly aid the locals inthe wild card scramble.

Big Baby

A loss and it is likely over for this year. I hope they can pull it out at home and have 10 days to get ready for Denver. Surprised Manziel scored a 32. Too bad Fitzpatrick couldn't take his brains and put them in QB ability.

OC Dolphin

I liked Chad Pennington as the best QB the team has had since Marino. Tannehill just bumped him off that position. Must be something in those double nn's.

the shadow knows

Big Baby,

fiedler being a hebe has nothing to do with my estmation of his abilities. i remember the dumber than dirt vince ferragamo trying to tell the rams that he was gonna go to medical school if he didn't get a contract extension/raise. you think ryan tannehill could handle med school level organic chemistry? even undergraduate organic? the class that separates the men from the boys and the women from the girls!!

Big Baby

Pennington was the best OC but only one year. It's amazing that Fiedler holds every passing recored there is in franchise history after Marion. Sad really when you think about it.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

i loved pennington and he had an unreal year when he came, but his rag arm was on display in that thumping by the ravens in the playoff game. unfortunately, his keen football brain could not compensate for the lack of arm strength, with teams barely needing a FS against him. great guy, great as a rookie starter for NYJ, but severly damaged goods (arm, not head) when he got here.

OC Dolphin

Shadow,

A Harvard education is not so much an indicator of brain power so much as the actual acceptance into the school.

Big Baby

I had one person in my graduating class get accepted to Harvard. She was a brainiac even when we were in elementary school. I had another friend get accepted to Notre Dame he was the same way good kids wonder what they are up to now.

OC Dolphin

More than likely succeeding in some way or another, BB.

roid rage

I wish Pennington was on our coaching staff...dude has a great football brain...

roid rage

Oh god,I was at that Ravens playoff game...Ed Reed ate our lunch...that was a rough day...

OC Dolphin

Someone would have to check, but it seems ex-QBs do not make for great head coaches. My impression is that highly effective ones come from the defensive ranks.

Big Baby

An awful ending to a magical season roid. Things started out great too with a fumble recovery to begin the game if I remember. I hated Ed Reed after that game.

OC Dolphin

Just looked up to see what Pennington is doing. Apparently he is coaching a middle school football team in Lexington, Kentucky.

the shadow knows

OC Dolphin,

methinks that a fair %age of winning head coaches are/were former OL coaches. we shall leave tony sporano out of the discussion, even though he was not thoroughly bad, just bad. those FGs, one drive after another, were irritating and the fact that the dolphins didn't run successfully with a former OL coach is strange. is mike mccarthy of GB a former OL coach? man, he sure has the packers playing at a high level at this point. 42 points at halftime sunday night-that is two games plus for the locals.

OC Dolphin

Shadow,

You may be right about OL personnel. Looks like a subject I'll have to research. Btw, Sporano was indeed awful. Not as bad as Cam Cameron, but still awful.

the shadow knows

roid rage,

that was a brutal game even in front of the TV!!! being at one-sided games going the wrong way is not fun at all. not every 0-24 score becomes 55-24 (1974 USC-ND). at 17-0 i told my friends "next score wins", and then the irish got a TD. was very nice that the incredibly motivated anthony davis got a score back for us before halftime, and then took the 2nd half kickoff back for a score. after that it was a total trouncing of the irish (rumors circulated that the darker ND players quit on ara because he disciplined them too severely). what a game for a quarter (3rd)!! it went from a bashing one way to abashing the other way- anthony davis-11 TDs versus ND in three games; w/o doubt their most dreaded opponent. even counting jim everett and mike phipps who defeated ND 3 times apiece for hank stram's beloved "purdue university".

Big Baby

OC I still can't believe a guy with a track record like Parcells saddled us with Tony Sparano. Guy has success in rebuilding 3 other franchises but when he gets to Miami he has a brain cramp. Just our luck.

Big Baby

Pennington was all him and they did have the 11-5 season but it proved to all be a mirage.

Fzb3346

Parcells is a total dick, he interviewed Mike Tomlin and sexy Rexy and elected Tony asswipe Sporano as our HC...come mierda.

on the Fiedler and Tanny debate?..why can we just say they are both great athletes..

soooo, you boys think that clueless Joe is going to have his team ready to play tomorrow?.

if Ross elects to fire clueless Joe at the end of the year I think Ross needs to at least consider keeping Hickey around and allowed him to pick his coach...Hickey has earned my respect which is something clueless Joe has never done.

Big Baby

Sure we can say they were both great athletes but one is clearly better than the other.

I think Philbin will have the team ready but I am worried about Tannehill's health being ready.

Do we really need to project the future of the coach in the middle of a playoff race? geeeesh...

Fzb3346

BB..the last time I checked Joey's record is not even 500, U think that's going to change?

I'm hurting as all of us are but me and others (not all) do think, no do know that Philbin is not the answer and will never be the answer.

looking forward to the game saturday, hopefully I'll get to meet Woody and Roid over at Joe Robbie stadium, shadow..there's still time for you to come to the game buddy, there's plenty of time left.

Big Baby

He's outcoached a few very good coaches and teams this season. They haven't lost to bad team yet. Maybe you are right maybe you are wrong. Projecting now is just pointless. I know you have this bee in your bonnet about Philbin ever since he got Ireland fired that will never change if he wins or loses.

Fzb3346

don't worry guys...I'm not going to start again with my "clueless Joe needs to be fired" again, hehe

we'll see what happens at the end of the year...in the meantime.

go Dolphins!!!

ok..Dolphins 22 Bills 21..yeah I said it.

Big Baby

Philbin keeps his job with at least a 9-7 record playoffs or no playoffs. Assuming Jim Harbaugh is not available if he is then all bets are off. Harbaugh is going to UMichigan or to the Dolphins that much is almost certain.

OC Dolphin

BB,

FZB does have a bee buzzing around in there, but it's not in his bonnet. It's somewhere else that rhymes with "class."

Big Baby

NEW FZB campaign Suck for Harbaugh! uh...that doesn't rhyme but you get it.

Big Baby

Tank for Jim! ok.. will keep trying.

Fzb3346

asswipe Ross will certainly find a way to fuck it up..just as he did when he fired Ireland and kept Joey when both should have been el gonzo.

Big Baby

Best case scenario (for most except for Tom, FZB couple others) Philbin wins 10 games and Miami makes the playoffs. Philbin will be the coach for a long time I think if that happens. 8 possibly 9 wins or less and his job is in serious jeopardy likely opening the door for Jim Harbaugh.

Fzb3346

BTW guys...here's something else to consider in regards to clueless Joe..hypothetically speaking here of course.

if Ross were to fire him today, how many teams would you guys think would line up to hire him as their next coach?...

as opposed to Jim Harbaugh??

care to answer that one?

and be honest por favor.

Big Baby

Again pointless speculation. The question is whether Philbin is a good fit for this Miami team now and going forward into next season That story is yet to unfold.

Fzb3346

again U didn't answer the question because U know what the answer is.

but you are correct, right now is pointless..

(the real) david in los angeles

baby, relax.
landry was drafted to a team with 2 receivers that are 1000 yard receivers and he's already the #2 option on the team, without really getting the snaps early.
by the end of the year he'll be among the best rookie receivers.

as for your "it's a passing league" bullshit, if that were true, we would be looking at losses EVERY TIME we've passed at a larger % than we ran!
you STILL have no explanation for that, do you? lol..

when we run, we win, PERIOD.
the numbers back that up, and blindly typing "it's a passing league" doesn't change that.

(the real) david in los angeles

---typo---

as for your "it's a passing league" bullshit, if that were true, then why do we see losses EVERY TIME we've passed at a larger % than we've ran!?
you STILL have no explanation for that, do you? lol..

Big Baby

david it is a passing league. The NFL has made sure of that by making rule changes that favor the offense for the last decade. The NFL wanted it now it has been done. A passing league don't be late to the party.

Big Baby

Regarding Jarvis Landry I trust you will be right I love watching this kid play. He will only get better maybe a breakout game tomorrow night on the national stage how about that?

(the real) david in los angeles

once again baby, YOU ARE WRONG.
they ENCOURAGE passing, YES, they protect receivers more and QB's more.
THAT is a fact, yes.
the other fact is, running the ball effectively and having a strong defense is what wins championships.
it's why denver lost.
it's why the patriots lost, etc.
IT'S WHY WE LOSE WHEN WE PASS MORE THAN WE RUN.
what part about that fact escapes you?
every loss we've had were games where we didn't play to our strength; RUNNING THE BALL.
it doesn't matter what the league encourages, it only matters what our strengths are.
the NBA encourages no defense with the check rules, and they encourage firing 3 point shots every possession, right?
well explain how miami went to 4 straight finals and won 2!

what the league pushes teams to do, how they change the rules, etc, doesn't change how seattle won, how baltimore won and how the giants won.
DEFENSE AND BALL CONTROL.
if we had andrew luck back there, your argument would have merit.
WE DON'T HAVE THAT, so stop it already.

(the real) david in los angeles

interesting article here.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000427228/article/miami-dolphins-at-a-crossroads-heading-into-crucial-showdown

and woody, how's THIS for a quote:
"Is it a p
roblem that Lazor and head coach Joe Philbin don't give Tannehill any freedom to audible at the line of scrimmage if Tannehill seems to be playing the best football of his career?"

apparently tannehill isn't audibling at the line at all, and he's still on a leash.
if that is the case, in year 3, i have a problem with it.
either we trust this guy and let him do is job, or we get someone else.

or we can do what baby suggests ad throw the ball even more..

1st and 10 from the 11 against detroit.
top ranked running game.
middle of the pack passing game.
pass incomplete, pass incomplete then interception!

(the real) david in los angeles

landry is a total stud and is playing his tail off. i love him..

Big Baby

If we don't HAVE IT then we best be GETTIN' IT.

Big Baby

3:57 on the clock in Det needing a couple first downs to win. Run, Run, Pass Punt. That didn't work either.

that's not only where it's supposed to work, baby.

you don't start running on 1st down THERE; you do it throughout the game!

a few more runs in the 2nd half, LIKE GREEN BAY, and there's even less time on the clock for both those teams and in both cases, there might not have been enough time for them to win.

in EVERY VICTORY, the run pass ration has been close.
in every loss it hasn't.
THOSE FACTS cannot be disputed.

spare me about "getting it".
flacco won, eli won, brad johnson won, wilson won, with rex grossman, kaepernick, hasselbeck, and rich Fing gannon taking their teams to the superbowl.
you don't "get" a marino, manning or luck.
IT AIN'T THAT EASY, and as a dolphins fan, you should know this.
tennehill is a great game manager, a tremendous athlete, and a gifted QB, BUT ONLY when he isn't forced into 40 plus passes a game.

the template has been set for us to win with a guy like him; (flacco, kaepernick, etc).
strong defense, (we have), strong running game, (we have when they commit to it!!).
the coaches are forcing a square peg into a round hole.
that's what is making this season so maddening; we could EASILY be 7-2 0r 8-1 right now, atop the AFC east.

Guys, check out this very interesting article on the Dolphins from the NFL network..

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000427228/article/miami-dolphins-at-a-crossroads-heading-into-crucial-showdown

Jeff Darlington is reporting that Philbin and Lazor don't allow Tannehill to audible at the line of scrimmage, what?.. If this is true then I have a HUGE problem with them...WTF ?
